The Security Engineer position will execute strategic processes and implement technical solutions to enable our information security program and address day-to-day security challenges amidst the industry’s evolving technology landscape.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering, administration, and enhancement of the CrowdStrike platform, ensuring its optimal performance and coverage across the enterprise.
- Design and manage the deployment of CrowdStrike agents and the integration of cloud assets (Azure, GCP, AWS) into the platform.
- Develop custom tooling and automation that leverages CrowdStrike APIs to extend its capabilities and integrate its data with other F5 security systems.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to CrowdStrike agent connectivity, performance, and data reporting, serving as the subject matter expert for the platform.
- Implement and manage robust access provisioning schemes, role-based access controls (RBAC), and Identity Management integrations to secure enterprise systems.
- Build and implement new security controls, processes, and tools that enhance the visibility and protection provided by CrowdStrike.
- Identify organizational risks to confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and determine appropriate mitigations using our security toolset.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Site Reliability Engineering, and Operations teams to develop and implement technical solutions and security standards, with a focus on how CrowdStrike integrates into the broader architecture.
- Perform technical security assessments against product and enterprise systems, leveraging data from CrowdStrike and other security tools.
- Assist in incident detection and response efforts by providing deep platform knowledge and engineering support for the CrowdStrike toolset.
- Implement, design, and manage other enterprise security tools in conjunction with our core CrowdStrike deployment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 1+ years of active, hands-on experience working directly within the CrowdStrike console, managing the platform, agent deployments, and policies in a production environment.
- Familiarity with Identity Management (IAM) concepts, platforms, and best practices.
- Hands-on ability to build tools and scripts (e.g., Python, Go) that leverage CrowdStrike APIs for automation, reporting, and enhanced security functionality.
- Experience working with high-availability enterprise production environments.
- Technical knowledge and hands-on experience with cloud security (Azure, AWS, GCP), network security design, intrusion prevention/detection, and firewall architecture.
- Knowledge and familiarity with a broad technological stack, including CrowdStrike, Big-IP, Azure, AWS, GCP, CentOS, Hashicorp Vault, Palo Alto, and Qualys.
- Baseline competency in the administration of Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Exposure to DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Git).
- Strong self-directed work habits, exhibiting initiative, drive, creativity, and professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of relevant security and networking experience, which must include at least 1 year of practical experience engineering and operating the CrowdStrike platform.

The annual base pay for this position is: $132,000.00 - $198,000.00F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business.
