As an Security Architect Sr within PNC’s Security Architecture organization, the preferred candidate will reside and work in one of our Technology hub locations: Birmingham, AL; Phoenix, AZ; Cleveland, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; or Dallas, TX. Responsibilities require time in the office with the opportunity for remote work at the manager’s discretion.
• Candidate needs to have a security background.
• Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) from ISC2 is preferred.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) would be beneficial but not required. Analytical thinking and reasoning skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• The Security Architect roll includes but not limited to: Addressing issues including analysis for supported services, ensuring quality of deliverables, while maintaining compliance with relevant standards under minimal supervision.
• Create and maintain technical and operational patterns and standards through written and verbal communication.
• May provide consultations on common Security Architecture issues as needed.
• Work to develop relationships collaborating with architects, engineers and developers to appropriately address applicable requirements associated with deliverables.
• Performing duties supporting Security Architecture’s operational day-to-day services.

Job Description

  • Secures enterprise information, systems, and development by reviewing security requirements; planning, designing, and reviewing business and security systems; creates architectural artifacts; provides standards and governance oversight for the enterprise.
  • Leads and participates in discovery efforts related to the introduction of new technologies. Prepare artifacts as required to communicate concepts and provide overall alignment with Enterprise Architecture. Collaborate with Engineering and other partners to ensure alignment with the overall intended design.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of standards, framework, and security concepts that align with the overall business and technology strategy. Maintain and update architecture systems of record. Participate with engineering and other SME on best practices to consume technology and other standards. Leverages broad knowledge base and subject matter expertise to provide guidance.
  • Provides governance and interpretation of architectural standards, design concepts, and frameworks. Monitors industry security updates, technologies and best practices to improve security management.
  • Designs and collaborates on solutions that balance business requirements with information and security requirements. Participates in challenging and complex conversations to provide specific recommendations.
  • Identifies security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements to existing processes, systems, including in depth analysis, presentations, and executive engagement.
