Job Description

The Sector Manager – Oil & Gas is responsible to drive and execute for Rotork in the Oil & Gas market within the United States by leading sales strategy for sector in territory, and delivery of sales against agreed targets.

Reporting to the Head of Sales for the end market, this opportunity will allow account development planning to drive long term growth, accountability of P&L for sector in territory, and strategic and operational excellence across different channels and in collaboration with other internal teams in country.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Delivery

  • Lead sales strategy for sector in sector, and delivery of sales against agreed targets 
  • Account development planning to drive long term growth 
  • Accountability of P&L for sector in territory 
  • Direct customer ownership and sales activity; supporting, managing and coaching sales teams to drive; 
    • Customer penetration
    • Profitability
    • End to end sales leadership across product portfolio 
  • Ensure accurate and transparent sales forecasting across account 
  • Driving strategic and operational excellence across different channels and in collaboration with other internal teams in country 
  • Feed business intelligence into Commercial function 
  • Customer ownership through team to drive excellent customer relationships 
  • Working collaboratively with Application Engineering, Customer contact, internal sales and other back-office sales activities as required 
  • Resource allocation: ensuring resources are effectively deployed based on organisational and customer priorities

Qualifications

Experience Requirements: 

  • Degree or recognised qualification in Engineering. 
  • Good command of English, (both spoken and written).
  • Senior sales experience in manufacturing (industrial engineering ideal) and accompanying proven track record of success, likely to be gained from 5 years in a similar role. 
  • Knowledge and experience of sales techniques. 
  • Outstanding collaborative working across a variety of business units, challenging, and changing siloed thinking wherever it appears.
  • Ready to travel internationally on occasion.

Skills Required

  • Degree or recognized qualification in Engineering
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Senior sales experience in manufacturing, ideally industrial engineering, with a proven track record of success
  • Approximately five years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge and experience of sales techniques
  • Ability to collaborate across a variety of business units
  • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion
