Post Assembly Seal, fillet, fay, cap, and brushcoat for major assemblies, sub-assemblies, and integral fuel cells. Obtain daily work assignments from the lead or supervisor and review relevant work instructions to determine the work area. Gather necessary sealants, solvents, cleaners, and wipers from designated storage area. Clean tank surfaces using appropriate solvents and processes ensuring they are wiped dry. Load seal guns and apply sealant and/or brushcoat per BAC specifications, including fillet seals to system components and sealing of heads and collars of fasteners. Perform a personal shake of work areas prior to sell of job to repair any nonconformances, damage, or lack of sealant and prepare for inspection. Assist with HLT (helium leak test) operations and perform functional tests on fuel cavities to determine if leaks exist.
- Prepares work to be accomplished by following work instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering tools, and materials.
- Work from work instructions, blueprints, documents, standards, and other required specifications to complete assigned tasks.
- Apply sealant Post-assembly to Major assembly & Sub-assembly areas using basic Seal knowledge and requirements for Pressure & Corrosion seal assembly areas.
- Self-inspect work in accordance with Customer Specifications
- Ensure all assemblies and detail parts are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and non-conformance issues.
- Clean, prime, paint, seal, part-mark, and correct sealant and paint issues per specifications
- Report all non-conformances to Team Leads and/or Production Supervisor.
- Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to safety officials or manufacturing supervision.
- Report on job status and productions restraints to Team leaders and/or Production Supervisor.
- Maintain production schedule, Earned Standard Hour objectives, quality and production goals.
- Maintain an “Ultra C-Lean” working environment by following proper work procedures, ensuring a clean work area, and confirming at the beginning and end of each shift that the work area has an accurate inventory of tools.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
- Work extended hours, overtime, and weekends when necessary to support production and operations activities.
- Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to safety officials or manufacturing supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
