Position Overview:
As part of the talent Sea Ray team, you will support manufacturing and product development by validating foam and upholstery components, assisting with prototype builds, and ensuring accurate, high-quality assembly processes. This role applies sewing and upholstery expertise to troubleshoot production issues, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve quality and reduce defects. Working cross-functionally, the Specialist helps develop tools, train production teams, support validation builds, and maintain engineering documentation, while promoting continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:
- Verify upholstery foam to patterns provided
- Verify upholstery skin files to foam and provide redlines to dxf files as needed
- Assist with sewing skin files for design validation
- Create substrate assemblies as needed for upholstery
- Create build jigs and templates as needed for accurate upholstery completion
- Train woodshop, sewing and upholstery on build of upholstery build
- Lead & support root cause analysis of product build concerns
- Drive problem solving and corrective action of production challenges related to product
- Drive problem solving and corrective action to improve internal quality defects, as well as warranty failures.
- Identify critical to quality operations & checks required
- Revise engineering prints, as necessary, through the Engineering Change Process
- Create & implement engineering changes, as necessary.
- Support/Build offline Design Validation and Production Validation boats
- Primary focus in all aspects of sewing and upholstery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment
- Prefer sewing and upholstery experience and technical skills
- Able to read and understand engineering prints
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word
- Must possess strong analytical skills
- Must be customer focused
- Able to work independently with little supervision and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all functional areas in the facility, supply chain, product development, and vendors
- Self-starter and detail oriented
Working Conditions:
- Shop floor working environment.
- Shop floor is non-climate controlled. Temperature fluctuates with outside environmental conditions, such as air temperature, radiant heat from sunlight, air movement, and humidity levels.
- Frequent exposure to high-temperatures, including a hot and humid environment, especially during summer months.
- Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes
- Required to wear safety glasses, and utilize other safety equipment and personal protect equipment (PPE) while present on the production/shop floor.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust & cloths, epoxy, composites, and other chemicals.
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of times.
- Ability to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $23.07 - 30.01, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
