Freycinet Adventures offers award winning guided sea kayak tours located at the door step of the breathtakingly beautiful region of Freycinet National Park in Tasmania. An extension of Freycinet Lodge, we specialise in providing immersive and unforgettable experiences. Our mission is to connect people with nature and foster a deep appreciation for the natural wonders of this unique part of the world. Located approximately 2.5 hours from Hobart or Launceston, Freycinet Adventures is nestled in the popular holiday town of Coles Bay.

What you’ll do:

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Kayak Guide to join our team at Freycinet Adventures in a casual role, leading unforgettable adventures through the spectacular waterways of Freycinet National Park. You'll play a key role in creating safe, engaging and informative experiences, sharing your knowledge and passion for the region while helping guests connect with one of Tasmania's most iconic natural environments.

We're looking for team members who can commit to the full summer season, including availability throughout the Christmas and New Year period.

What you’ll bring:  

  • Demonstrated experience leading guided kayak tours in outdoor or adventure tourism environments
  • Strong understanding of risk management and safe operating practices
  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and outstanding customer service
  • A positive, energetic attitude and the ability to work effectively within a busy team
  • Knowledge of Tasmania's natural and cultural history, or the willingness to learn and share this knowledge with guests
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply practical mathematical skills in a workplace setting

Essential requirements:

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current manual driver's licence
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Card or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
  • Enclosed Sea Kayak Guide or equivalent kayaking guide certification
