Scrum Master

What you will be doing:

• Conduct sprint planning and prioritized the product backlog in collaboration with the product owner.
• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Scrum ceremonies.
• Coordinate and resolve cross-team dependencies to ensure smooth product delivery.
• Support the Delivery Lead in all aspects of PI Planning, including story mapping, identifying dependencies, and facilitating planning activities.
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and Architecture leads to align on priorities and track program goals.
• Provide regular updates to teams, stakeholders, and leadership on progress, upcoming tasks, risks, and blockers.
• Promote and support the team's adherence to agile methodologies and practices.
• Drive continuous improvement within the team and organization.
• Identify and remove any impediments or obstacles that may slow down or block the team’s progress.
• Ensure the team adheres to Scrum rules and processes, fostering an environment of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

What you already have:

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or High School diploma and equivalent relevant work experience required.
• 5+ years of experience working as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or in a similar role.
• 2+ years' experience in P&C insurance required.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Scrum certification (e.g., Professional Scrum Master [PSM], SAFe Scrum Master [SSM]) required.
• Experience using agile tools such as Jira, Trello, or other project management software preferred.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

• Proficient in using agile tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Blueprint Storyteller, and MS Visio.
• Understanding of Property & Casualty insurance lines of business (Home and Commercial Property) is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate between various teams.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in program management, including scope, schedule, quality, stakeholder, risk, and budget management.
• Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible; able to adjust to new requirements or unforeseen issues.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
• Ability to think critically and objectively.
• Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
