What you will be doing:
- Conduct sprint planning and prioritized the product backlog in collaboration with the product owner.
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Scrum ceremonies.
- Coordinate and resolve cross-team dependencies to ensure smooth product delivery.
- Support the Delivery Lead in all aspects of PI Planning, including story mapping, identifying dependencies, and facilitating planning activities.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and Architecture leads to align on priorities and track program goals.
- Provide regular updates to teams, stakeholders, and leadership on progress, upcoming tasks, risks, and blockers.
- Promote and support the team's adherence to agile methodologies and practices.
- Drive continuous improvement within the team and organization.
- Identify and remove any impediments or obstacles that may slow down or block the team’s progress.
- Ensure the team adheres to Scrum rules and processes, fostering an environment of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
What you already have:
Education, Experience, and Licensing:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or High School diploma and equivalent relevant work experience required.
- 5+ years of experience working as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or in a similar role.
- 2+ years' experience in P&C insurance required.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Scrum certification (e.g., Professional Scrum Master [PSM], SAFe Scrum Master [SSM]) required.
- Experience using agile tools such as Jira, Trello, or other project management software preferred.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in using agile tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Blueprint Storyteller, and MS Visio.
- Understanding of Property & Casualty insurance lines of business (Home and Commercial Property) is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate between various teams.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in program management, including scope, schedule, quality, stakeholder, risk, and budget management.
- Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible; able to adjust to new requirements or unforeseen issues.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to think critically and objectively.
- Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
