The Role

This position will be based out of our Tampa, FL location with a hybrid work with onsite at least 3 days per week.
Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. without need for future work visa sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
This position is onsite three(3) days per week in Tampa.

Scrum Master

We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, seasoned Scrum Master to join our team. This role involves supporting Agile teams in planning, executing, and delivering projects effectively and efficiently. The successful candidate will facilitate Scrum ceremonies including daily scrum meetings, biweekly sprint planning, retrospectives and backlog refinements.  Successful candidate will also ensure transparency across teams and assist in removing obstacles for the team and will working closely with the Product Owners to ensure delivery to commitments.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and support daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure teams adhere to Agile/Scrum practices and facilitate continuous improvement.  Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining project plans, tracking project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.  Facilitate quarterly PI Planning sessions across multiple teams.
  • Work closely with members of the team to align capacity and commitments for each sprint. 
  • Work closely with Product Owners to define project priorities and negotiate delivery dates to provide optimal value to the business community.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (development, QA, product) to ensure effective collaboration and alignment on project goals.  Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity, and innovation.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to the team, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and self-organization.
  • Identify, track, and remove impediments to help the team stay focused and productive.  Continuously monitor backlog to ensure resolution or timely escalations.
  • Maintain documentation on project status, updates, and lessons learned. Provide regular status reports to stakeholders and ensure project information is accessible and current.  Update agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs.  Track and communicate team metrics and sprint/release progress to all teams and management.
  • Support the identification and mitigation of project risks to help ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Support the team in identifying process improvements and implementing best practices in Agile methodologies.  Promote continuous improvement to support increased velocity.
  • Oversee cloud deployment processes in collaboration with IT Operations and Development teams.
  • Manage resources to address and resolve prioritized post-production bugs.
  • Present Change Requests through the weekly Change Control Board for approval.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or a related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster or project management certification is a major plus.)
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Software Development Life Cycle projects with experience in both waterfall project management and agile methodologies.
  • 5 years’ experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts between business and IT, create graphical representations of data, and pursue ongoing skill development.
  • Prior experience in the homeowners or auto insurance industry preferred.
  • High level of proficiency in tools like JIRA, Miro, Excel, Monday or MS Project, and Apptio.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Essential Skills:

  • Experience working with development teams on modern technology stacks.
  • Ability to work across multiple agile delivery teams and external vendors to coordinate delivery
  • Leverage Jira to understand project tracking, team velocity and delivery status
  • Monitor product backlog and work with product owners to prioritize based on business needs and team capacity.
  • Thorough understanding of project management and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Influence management skills.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to work with both onshore and offshore team members and manage efforts effectively in multiple time zones.
  • Strong technical background and experience in software development project delivery
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Able to adapt to constantly changing business requirements and negotiate delivery based on capacity.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skill.
  • Ability to adapt personal style to get the best from all team members.
