Job Description: Scrum Master

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Scrum Master to guide and facilitate our Agile development teams in delivering high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will foster an environment of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement, ensuring the Scrum process is followed while addressing any impediments that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate Agile Practices:
    • Lead all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
    • Coach the team on Agile principles and practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  2. Team Support:
    • Act as a servant-leader for the Scrum team, helping them achieve their goals and maintain focus on delivering value.
    • Shield the team from external interruptions and ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
  3. Impediment Management:
    • Identify and remove roadblocks or escalate them as necessary to maintain team productivity.
  4. Collaboration:
    • Partner with Product Owners to ensure the backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and ready for sprints.
    • Facilitate effective collaboration between cross-functional teams.
  5. Progress Tracking and Reporting:
    • Track sprint progress using Agile tools and metrics such as burndown charts, velocity, and team performance indicators.
    • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on sprint progress and team performance.
  6. Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive their implementation.
    • Promote a culture of innovation and learning within the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role within Agile software development teams.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) and software development lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with scaling frameworks like SAFe or LeSS.
  • Technical background or understanding of software development processes.
  • Experience in coaching teams transitioning to Agile methodologies.

Compensation, Benefits and Duration

Minimum Compensation: USD 34,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 127,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
Medical, vision, and dental benefits, 401k retirement plan, variable pay/incentives, paid time off, and paid holidays are available for full time employees.
This position is also available for independent contractors
