Role Summary:

The Scrum Master - IT supports Agile delivery for the Finance Product Team by facilitating Agile ceremonies, enabling effective planning and prioritization, improving delivery transparency, and helping the team deliver predictable business value. The role partners closely with the Product Owners, Finance stakeholders, delivery teams, and leadership to improve backlog health, manage dependencies, remove impediments, and foster continuous improvement while supporting established Agile ways of working


Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Agile delivery for one IT product team, with flexibility to support additional teams as business needs evolve.
  • Facilitate team ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Use Scrum, Kanban, and applicable SAFe practices to help the team plan work, manage flow, and deliver against agreed priorities.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Finance stakeholders, delivery leaders, and team members to maintain backlog health, clarity, support sprint goals, align delivery with business objectives
  • Support work intake, prioritization, and capacity planning processes to ensure work is aligned to business priorities, operational commitments, and team capacity.
  • Identify, track, and help remove team impediments, escalating risks, dependencies, or decisions when support is needed.
  • Facilitate management of cross-functional dependencies, risks, and decisions that may impact delivery commitments or planned business outcomes.
  • Maintain visibility into team progress, blockers, sprint health, and delivery metrics to support transparent communication and timely decisions.
  • Monitor delivery performance using metrics such as sprint commitment reliability, velocity trends, throughput, carryover, cycle time, and dependency management to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support release readiness by coordinating team inputs, tracking dependencies, managing risks, and following established delivery and governance practices.
  • Coach the team on Agile principles, Scrum practices, accountability, self-organization, and continuous improvement while promoting collaboration and transparency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, burndown tracking, and managing unplanned work.
  • Ability to facilitate team discussions, resolve day-to-day delivery challenges, and support alignment across Product Owners, Delivery Managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders.

·         Ability to communicate delivery status, risks, dependencies, and key metrics effectively to technical teams, Finance stakeholders, and leadership audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to support sprint execution, remove blockers, and improve delivery predictability over time.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, attention to detail, and commitment to quality in team communication, documentation, and delivery practices.
  • Collaborative, practical, and continuous improvement-oriented, with the ability to build trust and promote transparency within the team.
  • Experience facilitating prioritization discussions and balancing competing business demands.
  • Strong understanding of Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown, throughput, cycle time, carryover, and delivery predictability.
  • Experience supporting backlog management, acceptance criteria refinement, and sprint readiness activities.
  • Ability to influence without authority and build strong relationships across product, business, and technology teams.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile delivery facilitator, or similar role supporting business and technology product teams.
  • Experience using Agile planning and delivery tools, such as ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • First-level Scrum Master certification, such as CSM or PSM I, and/or SAFe Practitioner certification is strongly preferred.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting technology delivery in a regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with medical device, healthcare, or other regulated delivery environments.
  • Experience supporting Finance, Corporate Functions, ERP, Workday, SAP, Oracle, or financial process transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working with governance, compliance, audit, financial controls, or regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting Agile transformation or product team maturity initiatives.
