Scripps Sports is seeking an Account Executive who will sell linear, digital, and sponsorship solutions for Scripps Sports, including our partnership as the official broadcast partner of the Nashville Predators on ION and WNPX-TV/WTVF Channel 5. You'll work with regional and national clients to create innovative advertising solutions that connect brands with passionate sports fans, while helping achieve the revenue plan of our growing sports division.
This position can be remote in Nashville, TN, Charlotte, NC, or Atlanta, GA.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:- Independently prospect regional and national accounts, secure appointments, perform needs analysis, develop customized solutions, conduct presentations and close sales.
- Create and sell sponsorship/advertising solutions utilizing acquired league and team controlled sports inventory.
- Attend internal meetings to establish strategy and revenue goals and attend weekly sports division meetings.
- Serve as trusted advisor with new clients, provide best-in-class customer service, grow accounts, and gain additional business from referrals.
- Perform client services, including but not limited to media avail negotiations, presentation preparation delivery and execution, copy writing, credit applications, collections of revenue due and retention reports.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, which may include entertaining prospective and existing clients, attending sporting events or other associated functions.
- Perform routine administrative functions of media sales including makegood resolution, continuous update of CRM system with activity, account information and pending revenue, and communication with VP of Revenue regarding status of accounts.
- Assist Scripps national or local AE's on key client sales calls for sports sponsorships.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- BS/BA in related field required, or equivalent experience
- Generally 5+ years of sports-related experience required
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits.
- Demonstrated record of success in a goal-oriented, highly accountable sales environment
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office and other programs such as customer relations software
- Working knowledge of various media sales platforms
- Strong influencing, selling and upselling skills required
- Must have good organizational skills and time management
- Ability to present and negotiate with confidence and professionalism
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask and meet deadlines in fast pace environment
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
