Role Description:

Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) is responsible for identifying, assessing, and controlling the risks of money laundering and terrorist financing to which the bank is exposed to by using appropriate and effective internal security measures such as AML/CTF Transaction Monitoring.

Based on circumstantial models and additional research, AFC Transaction Monitoring & Screening recognizes potential evidence of money laundering and terrorist financing, which are subsequently investigated by the AFC Financial Crime Operations Teams and, if necessary, reported to the FIU in the form of a suspected money laundering report.

The Global Risk, Intelligence, Transactional Analysis & Model Development (GRITA&MD) function plays a key role in the technical design of AML/CTF Transaction Monitoring. This includes, among other things, the inventory and analysis of relevant evidence and typologies of money laundering and terrorist financing, the identification of the risks relevant to transaction monitoring and the derivation of the technical requirements for the evidence models. In addition, the GRITA&MD function also includes transactional analysis and the technical model specification (this also includes the consideration of methods and procedures such as machine learning).

The GRITA&MD Coordination Team supports the Head of GRITA&MD, among other things, in coordinating interfaces to other functions inside and outside AFC (e.g., in the creation of reports), the technical processing of audit reports and the implementation of projects within the GRITA&MD area. In this way, the GRITA Coordination Team ensures an appropriate exchange of information and supports the timely completion of internal and external commitments. Besides that, the GRITA&MD Coordination Team ensures quality among processes and deliverables of GRITA&MD Teams.

Within the GRITA&MD Coordination Team, the Scope of Monitoring Analyst works closely together with the other GRITA&MD Teams to ensure quality and completeness of customer, product, and transactional data within the Transaction Monitoring System.

Your key responsibilities

As a Scope of Monitoring Analyst, you are assessing the effective coverage of the corresponding customers, products and systems by relevant data extraction flows that feed into the transactions monitoring systems by complying with regulatory requirements.

• Assess the capabilities and limitations of existing transaction monitoring systems in terms of the efficient scope coverage
• Ansure that from a scope perspective all monitoring processes and systems comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices
• Stay updated with changes in AML regulations and adapt monitoring strategies accordinglyv develop and maintain documentation for all monitoring scope processes, ensuring clarity and compliance with internal and external standards

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree ideally with a geopolitical, sociological, finance or economic focus proven experience in the area of Anti-Financial Crime, banking, financial services, or regulatory environment, particularly with regard to the identification and assessment of risks and their coverage in AML/CTF transaction monitoring strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and make informed decisions.
• knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in AML and transaction monitoring.
• knowledge of different payment types and their potential AMIL relevance expertise with data lineage analytical thinking skills (skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and make informed decisions), effective communication skills, high resilience, independent working style
