The PositionWe are looking for you as a Scientist (m/f/d) to strengthen our "Critical Assay Components" team. In this exciting position, you'll focus on optimizing chemical raw materials for diagnostic tests. Within the department, we are jointly responsible for assays in the "DATs" (Drugs of abuse testing) and "TDMs" (Therapeutic drug monitoring) portfolios, among others. We work closely with other units such as Production, Quality Control (QC) Lab, and Test Development.
Your tasks and responsibilities
You'll be independently responsible for the synthesis development and optimization of immunologically active raw materials or their precursors. This includes synthesis planning and execution, and analytical characterization (NMR, HPLC, Photometry, LCMS) of the products.
You will document and interpret R&D results, summarizing them in presentations and reports for stakeholders or relevant committees. Furthermore, you'll incorporate these results into the creation of manufacturing, testing, and assay specifications, as well as scientific reports.
In your work, you will consider internal and external requirements such as manufacturability of raw materials after transfer to the production unit, sustainability, occupational safety, health protection, environmental protection, and quality guidelines.
You will be actively involved in project meetings, coordinating work packages between departments and partly representing the team lead.
Keeping up with current developments in organic chemistry through studying specialist literature, patent applications, and potentially attending relevant conferences is also particularly important to you.
Who you are
You have successfully completed your university studies and a subsequent PhD in organic or medicinal-pharmaceutical chemistry
Ideally, you have already gained professional experience in an industrial or comparable environment in organic chemistry
You have already successfully worked in project management (desirable skill)
Excellent teamwork skills and very strong communication abilities define you
You possess good time management skills and general curiosity
Analytical and critical thinking, as well as outstanding organizational skills, are among your strengths
Very good German skills and good English skills complete your profile
This position is limited to 2 years.
