Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bioanalytical Analyst to join our Large Molecule Assay team within Research and Breakthrough Innovation at Elanco. This laboratory-based position is focused on the execution of ligand-binding assays (LBAs) to quantify monoclonal antibodies and other protein therapeutics in biological matrices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with immunoassay platforms and a strong desire to learn about the unique challenges associated with the bioanalysis of large molecules.
Key Responsibilities- Perform ligand-binding assays (e.g., ELISA, MSD, Gyros) for the quantification of monoclonal antibodies in various biological fluids.
- Perform fit-for-purpose bioanalytical methods according to internal SOPs and global regulatory guidelines, assessing assay performance characteristics such as accuracy, precision, selectivity, sensitivity, and stability.
- Analyze samples from preclinical and clinical studies to provide high-quality data to our project teams
- Manage critical reagent inventory (e.g., capture/detection antibodies, standards) to ensure long-term assay consistency and performance.
- Aid in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with assays.
- Assist with laboratory maintenance functions such as buffer preparation and laboratory inventory management
- Meticulously document all experimental procedures and results in an electronic lab notebook (ELN).
- Work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional matrix environment, communicating effectively with team members at various levels.
- B.S. in Immunology, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on experience performing quantitative ligand binding assays using platforms such as a spectrophotometer, Meso Scale Discovery (MSD), Gyros, or Quanterix.
- Experience with performing immunogenicity (Anti-Drug Antibody, ADA) assays.
- Familiarity with cell-based neutralizing antibody (NAb) assays.
- Strong data analysis skills and experience with relevant software (e.g., SoftMax Pro, Benchling).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a high degree of scientific rigor.
