Join Girl Scouts and bring hands-on STEM, outdoor, life-skills, and leadership programming directly into local schools. You will build relationships with girls, schools, and families while helping girls who might not otherwise have access to Girl Scouts experience and everything the organization has to offer.

  

The School Program Coordinator expands access to Girl Scouts by developing and leading programs in schools, community centers, and underserved areas. This role includes planning and delivering badge experiences, and reporting outcomes to support continuous improvement and membership growth.

Key Responsibilities:

· Plan and prepare Girl Scout Academic Edge programs in schools and community organizations, in accordance with GSHPA and Pennsylvania guidelines. 

· Administer and facilitate structured badge-focused Girl Scout sessions in a clear and understandable manner appropriate for grade(s) level.

· Contribute to the ongoing evaluation of current programming efforts. Evaluate programs consistently with the objective of continually revising and updating curriculum and program delivery for maximum impact. 

· Establish and maintain relationships with educational institutions and community partners to support existing programming opportunities.

· Build strong relationships with girls and their families through regular communication and interaction.

· Complete administrative tasks for program maintenance and sustainability with accurate data collection.

· Assist girls in Product Program sales by collaborating with schools, organizing booths and cookie delivery logistics, and working with parents. 

· Provide professional, quality customer service to all program partners (volunteers, staff, and other community contacts.)

· Demonstrate commitment to the Girl Scout mission and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience by representing GSHPA in a positive and professional manner.

· Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for program participants and staff by always adhering to the GSUSA Safety Checkpoints.

· Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion. 

· Work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

· Ensure timely notification to management of areas of improvement, concern, including completing accident and/or incident reports and submission to management within 24 hours. 

· Perform other duties as assigned in support of council-wide initiatives and/or cross functional teams to further the mission of GSHPA.

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education or related field, or equivalent experience required.

· Previous experience developing and facilitating youth and community programs.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and virtual meeting platforms.

· First Aid/CPR/AED certified by a nationally recognized provider (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire) required.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

· Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high volume of work while managing multiple deadlines in a continually changing work environment.

· Work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages in a professional manner.

· Pass and maintain required background clearances.

· Possess and maintain a valid driver's license; access to reliable transportation required.

· Travel throughout the council, as needed.

· Lift/carry 30 pounds.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of experience developing, conducting, and/or supervising innovative youth and community programs
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from a nationally recognized provider, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and virtual meeting platforms
  • Strong public relations skills and ability to develop community collaborations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with public presentation ability
  • Strong relationship-building, time management, organizational, prioritization, judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and with individuals from diverse backgrounds and ages
  • Ability to pass and maintain required background clearances
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel throughout the council as needed
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds
  • Bilingual Spanish and English
