:  Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator, the Senior Group Leader is responsible for assisting with programming and supervision of the School Age licensed program. The Senior Group Leader will help plan and implement a program of activities which will ensure each child’s personal safety while providing entertainment, physical challenges, and learning experiences. S/He will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency.  The Senior Group Leader will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties as well as perform the following job functions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • S. or B.A. with 9 months experience with school age children, or High School diploma or equivalent and one year working with school age.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
  • Evidence of physical examination within last 12 months.
  • Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
  • Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work and thrive as part of a cohesive team.
  • Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
  • Will sometimes work early morning, late nights and weekends.
  • Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking responsibilities.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs on occasion and 40lbs frequently (children) and move intermittently during work hours.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand Y-USA's three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility; proven ability to identify and meet the needs of the health seeker

 

 

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Associate or Bachelor degree with 9 months experience with school age children, or High School diploma/equivalent and one year working with school age children
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
  • Evidence of physical examination within last 12 months

  • Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary; lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and 40 lbs frequently
