How you’ll contribute 

A Scheduler who excels in this role:

  • Obtains physician's orders and authorization/pre-certification, ensures all required documentation is received and accurate, and enters outpatient procedures in SIS. 

  • Informs patient or physician's office staff of any carrier that is out of network or any issue that may result in a decrease of benefits.

  • Schedules all patients for surgical procedures.

  • Calls patients to pre-register and collect payment prior to the date of surgery and perform daily balancing of cash drawer.

  • Back-up other positions in office as needed.

What we're looking for 
Scheduler:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent Required or at least three years of directly related experience may be substituted for the required education.

  • Prior scheduling experience in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred. Medical terminology, billing, and/or collection experience preferred. Computer experience required

  • Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

    • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

    • Organizational and time management skills.

    • Ability to prioritize work based upon patient/department needs.

    • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including but not limited to, computer, copier, telephone, fax, scanner.
