EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in planning, statistics, transportation, business administration or a related field. Demonstrated ability to express oneself through written and oral communication. Strong analytical and advanced statistical skills are required. Knowledge of the MARTA service area is desired. Four years related experience in may substitute for bachelor’s degree.
INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments
SUMMARY
Under general supervision provides the development and implementation of complex schedules for transit service and operator work assignments. Compiles data for analytical reports regarding passenger activity and route performance. Assists in analyzing potential service changes and provides operating cost and feasibility information and operator and vehicle requirement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Under general supervision provides economic analysis of existing and proposed bus and rail service.
2. Under general supervision develops efficient and effective bus/rail schedules satisfying forecasted passenger demand while utilizing the optimal resource requirements.
3. Under general supervision creates realistic and efficient operators’ work assignments utilizing complex optimizing routines and specialized software. Adheres to established work rules and union contracts.
4. Under general supervision collects, compiles and analyzes ridership, traffic and performance data from a variety of sources including Automatic Vehicle Locator, Automatic Passenger Counters, manual ride/point checks, faregate entries, farebox data and personal observations.
5. Under general supervision designs bus and rail information into public information media that effectively communicates the service provided.
6. Assists in analyzing passenger data and operational reports and determines the appropriate service required and reports the efficiency of the service provided. Provides recommendations for reported problems.
7. Performs ride checks on bus/rail for running time analysis
8. Performs other related duties as assigned, including Transit Ambassador assignments.

Skills Required
