Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton, and we are looking for an EXPERIENCED SAW CUTTER to join our FAC team for the 2026 road construction season.

This position operates on a 6 day work week (Monday - Saturday with the occasional Sunday) with a shift of 8 - 12 hours a day,

This is a full time seasonal position that offers a competitive wage with benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Operate saw cutting equipment safely and efficiently to cut asphalt and concrete as required.
  • Proficient in the utilization of chop saws and slab saws.
  • Perform layout measurements and mark cutting lines based on project specifications.
  • Ensure all cutting and equipment operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of saw cutting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with project foremen and superintendents to meet deadlines and maintain project schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation and cleanup of job sites before and after cutting operations (slurry containment and cleanup).
  • Maintain accurate records of cutting activities, including materials used and time spent on tasks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a saw cutter in road construction or a related field.
  • Familiarity with various saw cutting techniques and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices related to construction operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, painted markings, and project specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in carrying out cutting tasks.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and operate heavy machinery.
  • Ability to work long hours in various outdoor, and project conditions.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report on progress.
  • Ability to safely drive a one ton truck and tow trailer.

Pay Scale $25 - $36
