IKEA Services India is one of the Supply Areas for IKEA, which represent South Asia Region comprising of India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh (Supply Area South Asia-SASA). SASA has a rich history of sourcing from the South Asia region for more than four decades. Transformation of textile, carpet industry and recycle plastic industry are a few such examples. This partnership with suppliers has helped to continuously grow our sourcing operations.

Purpose of function

The Supply Area Finance Performance & Operations function secures compliance to internal and external regulations in the operations of all Purchasing & Logistics companies. We do this in several assignments such as Controllership, Transactional Finance, Specialist Finance, Business Finance (Supply Area performance) and Risk & Compliance.

Purpose of job

As Accountant you are responsible for providing timely, accurate, relevant, comparable and understandable financial information.

Assignment:

General accounting:

• Ensure document management activities and conduct compliance reviews to ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulations as well as internal guidelines and manuals.
• Secure journal entries, allocations, provisions, accruals, and deferrals, as well as maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger documentation.
• Secure period closing activities, such as closing sub-ledgers, analyzing variances, reconciling accounts, performing FX revaluations, and reconciling intercompany transactions, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Asset accounting:

• Deliver the non-current asset accounting, including fixed asset depreciation, depletion, and amortization, and ensure that the asset reports reflect and the asset portfolio correctly.

Accounts payables:

• Secure the end-to-end process of invoice management, including receipt, verification, and accurate recording for timely payments.
• Ensure expenses, including employee reimbursements and travel expenses.
• Ensure settlements for various payables, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payment terms.

Accounts receivables:

• Preparing and recording the invoices, tracking payments received, reconciling intercompany accounts and main contact for any questions related to the invoices.

Supply Area FP&O specific:

• Responsible for short-term cash forecasting and other reconciliations on a regular basis, securing needed cash–flow is sufficient to cover needs.
• Support with Inter IKEA & tax (VAT) reporting, treasury & bank & liquidity tasks and preparing / supporting audits in the assigned topics.
• Continuously work with improvements and actively participate in applicable Finance Performance & Operations Networks and global projects.

Knowledge:

• University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years work experience in similar position.
• Good knowledge of financial processes, general accounting procedures, tax and other local regulations.
• Knowledge of Inter IKEA Financial Manual and other Inter IKEA regulations.
• Good knowledge in MS office and knowledge of accounting and reporting systems.
• Fluent in local language and English.
