About Turium AI
Turium AI is an Australian enterprise technology company delivering AI, automation, data and enterprise transformation solutions to government and large organisations.
We combine deep enterprise systems capability with modern AI, automation and integration technologies to help organisations improve productivity, simplify complex processes and modernise critical business platforms.
Turium AI has recently been selected to support a major SAP S/4HANA transformation program within the Australian Government. We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Functional Lead to play a key role in delivering the program and representing Turium AI as a trusted implementation partner.
The Role
We are looking for a senior, hands-on SAP S/4HANA Functional Lead with strong experience across Finance and Procurement.
This is not a purely advisory or architecture role. The successful candidate will be expected to lead client workshops, provide functional leadership, configure the SAP system and work directly with the broader delivery team throughout the implementation lifecycle.
You will act as a key functional representative of Turium AI, helping ensure the client has confidence in our solution, delivery approach and SAP capability.
The role requires someone who can confidently engage with senior client stakeholders while remaining actively involved in configuration, documentation, testing and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SAP S/4HANA functional design across Finance and Procurement.
- Facilitate fit-to-standard workshops with client business and technical stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into practical SAP configuration and solution designs.
- Perform hands-on SAP S/4HANA configuration.
- Configure and support processes across Finance, Procurement, Accounts Payable and related workflows.
- Provide functional leadership and guidance to SAP consultants, developers, integration specialists and testers.
- Prepare functional specifications, configuration documents, process designs and test scenarios.
- Review business requirements and identify opportunities to adopt SAP standard functionality.
- Support integration design across SAP and external enterprise systems.
- Work closely with data migration, security, reporting and technical teams.
- Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, cutover and go-live.
- Investigate and resolve functional defects and configuration issues.
- Review proposed customisations and promote a clean-core, standard-first approach.
- Support project planning, estimation, risk management and delivery governance.
- Present solution recommendations and design decisions to client stakeholders.
- Represent Turium AI professionally and build confidence in our SAP delivery capability.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the development of Turium AI’s SAP practice.
Required Experience
- At least 8–10 years of SAP functional consulting experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA.
- Demonstrated experience configuring SAP Finance and Procurement processes.
- Experience across SAP FI, CO, MM, P2P, Accounts Payable and Asset Accounting.
- At least two end-to-end SAP or S/4HANA implementation programs.
- Experience leading fit-to-standard workshops and functional design sessions.
- Strong understanding of SAP Activate implementation methodology.
- Experience preparing functional specifications and configuration documentation.
- Experience supporting data migration, integration, testing, cutover and hypercare.
- Working knowledge of SAP Fiori applications, workflows, roles and authorisations.
- Ability to understand technical integrations, APIs and interfaces without operating solely as a technical consultant.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of functional outcomes.
- Willingness to remain hands-on throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Desirable Experience
- Previous Australian Government or public-sector SAP experience.
- Knowledge of Australian Government Finance, Procurement and shared-service processes.
- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition or RISE with SAP.
- Experience with SAP BTP, Integration Suite or modern SAP workflow capabilities.
- Relevant SAP S/4HANA certifications.
- Experience contributing to solution assurance, design authority or governance forums.
- Australian Government security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines senior-level credibility with a practical delivery mindset.
You should be comfortable presenting to executives and business stakeholders, but equally comfortable logging into SAP, completing configuration, troubleshooting issues and supporting the team through testing and go-live.
You will be expected to take ownership, make informed recommendations and help establish Turium AI as a highly capable SAP S/4HANA implementation partner.
Why Join Turium AI
- Work on a major Australian Government S/4HANA transformation program.
- Play a visible leadership role in building Turium AI’s SAP capability.
- Work across SAP, AI, automation, data and enterprise integration.

- Work closely with Turium AI’s leadership and senior client stakeholders.
- Opportunity to grow into a broader SAP Practice Lead role as the capability expands.
