The Role: SAP HCM Senior Payroll Consultant

The SAP Italy HCM PY Consultant is a key member of the Global Implementation Practice department. This role involves delivering high-quality consultancy to Strada’s outsourced clients through expert advice, technical support, and effective problem solving. Success in this position requires a strong commitment to teamwork, a proactive attitude, and strict adherence to our delivery standards and methodologies, ensuring consistent value and excellence across all client engagements.

The Global Implementation Practice department is responsible for:

  • Development of new customer solutions
  • Technical maintenance of outsourced SAP HR solutions of our clients; 
  • Modification of the solution after delivery to correct possible faults, to improve performance or other attributes and to adapt the product to a modified environment;
  • Stabilize, optimize, and extend the applications so that functionality continues to meet the clients’ changing needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Integrated into the Global Implementation Practice department and under the supervision of a Team Manager, the SAP HCM Senior PY Consultant plays a key role in supporting the development of our outsourced clients through the following activities:

  • Providing application support consultancy through expert advice, guidance, and appropriate technical actions;
  • Managing tickets based on functional analysis and with guidance or coaching on the technical implementation approach;
  • Delivering clean, maintainable, and bug-free code and customizing, in full compliance with Strada best practices;
  • Performing system tests using either provided or self-generated test data to ensure that developments meet agreed specifications;
  • Producing clear and comprehensive documentation, both technical and functional, for the issues handled;
  • Managing personal daily priorities and assigned tickets, ensuring deadlines are consistently met;
  • Regularly reporting status and progress to the Project Manager or PY Team Lead;
  • Maintaining effective internal and external communication channels, ensuring timely updates on issue status, resolution, and root cause;
  • Demonstrating a solid understanding of HR processes and the SAP HR system architecture.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong interest in delivering high quality products in the field of Human Resources;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, while consistently meeting quality standards;
  • Strong service orientation, with a client-centric mindset and a clear sense of ownership and accountability;
  • Commitment to customer success, team collaboration, and project objectives;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to details; 
  • Solid understanding of SAP HR architecture and in-depth knowledge of the SAP HR Payroll module for Italy; 
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions;
  • Experience in application maintenance and other SAP modules are an asset.

You have: 

  • 4/5 years of experience in SAP Italy HR Payroll modules
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English
