Requirements
We are looking for a hands-on SAP ECP / EC Payroll QA professional to execute testing for US Payroll
implementations on the SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) platform. The ideal candidate has strong
US Payroll processing knowledge, direct experience running integration test scenarios across EC-to-ECP
pipelines, and the ability to execute payroll test scripts accurately within a structured test workstream.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute test cases and test scripts for SAP ECP / EC Payroll across SIT, parallel testing, UAT, and
regression cycles
Run payroll test scenarios covering gross-to-net calculations, federal/state/local tax withholding,
garnishments, off-cycle payroll, and retro processing
Execute EC-to-ECP integration testing — validate employee master data replication, compensation, org,
and position data flows into payroll
Perform payroll interface testing — ACH/NACHA bank files, GL postings, time & attendance feeds, and
third-party payroll vendor integrations
Support payroll parallel run execution — run comparison scenarios, document variances, and assist with
root cause identification
Validate US payroll tax configuration and BSI TaxFactory results for accuracy across federal, state, and
local tax scenarios
Execute year-end test scenarios including W-2 and W-2c validation where applicable
Log and track defects with full payroll context — wage types, pay periods, employee populations, and
replication steps
Participate in test preparation — review test scripts, flag coverage gaps, and provide timely execution
status to the test lead
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
5+ years of total Payroll domain experience (SAP HCM Payroll and/or SAP ECP / EC Payroll)
US Payroll experience is mandatory — US tax processing, wage types, BSI TaxFactory,
garnishments, retro, year-end (W-2)
2+ years of hands-on integration testing / SIT execution experience on SAP HCM or ECP programs
Direct experience testing payroll interfaces — bank files (ACH/NACHA), GL, time integration, third-
party vendor feeds
Technical Skills
SAP ECP / EC Payroll — payroll schema/PCR familiarity, wage type catalog, payroll control record,
payroll log analysis
SuccessFactors EC — EC-to-ECP replication understanding; compensation, org, and position data flows
US Payroll specifics: federal/state/local tax, BSI TaxFactory, garnishments, off-cycle, retro processing,
W-2
Integration testing across EC-to-ECP, Payroll-to-GL, Payroll-to-Bank, and Time-to-Payroll interfaces
Parallel run execution — variance comparison between legacy system and ECP results
Defect management in HP ALM / Quality Center, JIRA, Azure DevOps, or equivalent
Soft Skills / Ways of Working
Detail-oriented test execution — accurate script execution and thorough result documentation
Strong analytical mindset for payroll variance identification and documentation
Clear defect reporting with payroll-specific context that non-technical stakeholders can act on
Ability to work within a defined test schedule and escalate blockers quickly
Skills Required
- At least 5 years of total payroll domain experience with SAP HCM Payroll and/or SAP ECP
- Hands-on US Payroll experience, including tax processing, wage types, BSI TaxFactory, garnishments, retro processing, and year-end W-2
- At least 2 years of hands-on integration testing or SIT execution on SAP HCM or ECP programs
- Experience testing payroll interfaces including ACH/NACHA bank files, GL, time integration, and third-party vendor feeds
- Familiarity with SAP ECP/EC Payroll schemas, PCRs, wage types, payroll control records, and payroll log analysis
- Understanding of SuccessFactors Employee Central to ECP replication for compensation, organizational, and position data
- Experience with integration testing across EC-to-ECP, Payroll-to-GL, Payroll-to-Bank, and Time-to-Payroll interfaces
- Experience with parallel-run variance comparison between legacy payroll systems and ECP
- Experience using HP ALM/Quality Center, JIRA, Azure DevOps, or equivalent defect-management tools
- Strong analytical, documentation, defect reporting, and test execution skills
