Job Description

If you don't know where to start your career, start by trying everything!

The SAP Academy for Product & Engineering will launch your career by diving into the vast, innovative world of SAP. The 12-month rotational program allows you to explore different technologies, develop new skills and connections, and make an impact by contributing as a full-time employee making SAP a sustainable, intelligent enterprise. Here’s how:

  • Join a cohort of other curious, passionate, and motivated individuals

  • Get exposed to a vast array of teams during each 6-month rotation - where you will experience different technology stacks, products, industries while refining your knowledge and understanding of the business

  • Receive impactful projects, tailored learning, robust mentorship, and networking opportunities

What you’ll bring

You’re at the start of your technical career, with grounding in both software development and data science, and a genuine curiosity about how AI-native applications and analytical models work. You bring strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the creative thinking and learning agility to adapt as the role evolves.

•  Foundational programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript, with an understanding of APIs, microservices architecture, CI/CD practices, and cloud fundamentals.

•  Hands-on exposure to data analysis, applied statistics, and machine learning, using Python, SQL, and core analytical libraries — including feature engineering and introductory deep learning.

•  Familiarity with data engineering practices — cleaning, transformation, and validation — alongside a grounding in ethical AI principles, data privacy, and responsible data usage.

•  You integrate autonomous AI agents into your daily workflows and apply context engineering techniques to elicit reliable, consistent outputs from AI models, understanding of usage concepts of AI technologies and LLM families.

•  A degree in Software Development, Engineering, IT, or Design — or equivalent experience, including community college and bootcamps. You’ll have graduated no later than 2027 with no more than two years of working experience.

•  Fluency in English and Hungarian is required for this role.

What you’ll build

You’ll contribute across both application engineering and applied data science, gaining hands-on experience in AI-native development within an enterprise environment.

•  Build and test AI-enabled application features, including large language model (LLM) integration, prompt testing, and AI output validation.

•  Support analytics and modelling efforts through data preparation, feature engineering, baseline model runs, and model evaluation.

•  Contribute to evaluation datasets, benchmarking workflows, and reproducibility checks for retrieval-based and LLM-assisted use cases.

•  Monitor system logs, application metrics, and model outputs to surface issues and contribute to observability improvements.

•  Work within CI/CD pipelines and contribute to deployment support and basic automation workflows.

•  Follow established analytical and governance practices and maintain clear documentation throughout.

Where you belong

The SAP Academy for Product and Engineering is a 12-month rotational program for recent graduates who want to build real technical depth across SAP’s product and engineering landscape.

Two six-month rotations expose you to different technology stacks, products, and teams — alongside tailored learning, robust mentorship, and meaningful project work. Before the program ends, you’ll be considered for a long-term placement at SAP; to date, 90% of participants have been placed in a rotation team or a comparable one.

The next cohort starts on 1 March 2027, and the role is based in Budapest.

Please note: this program cannot support costs associated with foreign work permit administration.

SAP Compensation & Benefits Highlights

The following summarizes recurring compensation and benefits themes identified from responses generated by popular LLMs to common candidate questions about SAP and has not been reviewed or approved by SAP.

  • Fair & Transparent Compensation — Pay is considered competitive and fair overall, with satisfaction higher in certain roles and geographies, especially sales with strong on‑target earnings. Feedback suggests compensation is above average for a large enterprise software employer even if not at the very top of the tech market.
  • Leave & Time Off Breadth — Generous paid time off, holidays, volunteer time, and a formal sabbatical option are part of the total rewards. These offerings contribute meaningfully to overall value even when base salary alone may feel mid‑pack.
  • Healthcare Strength — Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus HSAs/FSAs and mental‑health support, form a robust core of the package. Paired with other coverages, this breadth reinforces strong total compensation value.
