Salvage Supervisor

Cleveland Brothers, the largest Cat® dealer in Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and western Maryland, has an immediate opportunity for a Salvage Supervisor.

Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc., your local Caterpillar dealership, is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join our growing team of established and successful professionals.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Act to eliminate/reduce risk of safety hazards in the work areas
• Effectively manage the disassembly of engines to the component level, parts and component cleaning, nondestructive testing methods, and machine shop operations

• Directs the qualification and inspections process using various NDT methods on components for reman to OEM specifications.

• Directs and assists in the completion of machine shop processes of thermal spray arc, crank polisher, magnetic particle testing, and CNC machining

• Supervise team members to meet production schedules in a cost-effective, quality, and high-velocity manner

• Utilize resources, people, material, machines to achieve cost, quality, and inventory management targets

• Monitors compliance with standard work, documented procedures, & best practices to ensure a safe and defect free production environment

• Drives root cause corrective action
• Leads status reporting, monitors, audits process, metrics, and reports.
• Collaborates with team members in the creation, implementation, and training of standard work procedures

• Follows and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work

• Ensure salvage areas are clean and set in an orderly condition
• Good communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills
• Maintains NDT qualification.

Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

• College, university, or technical degree in related discipline
• Experienced in setup and operation of CNC mills, lathes, polishers and other machines (10+ years)

• ASTM E 1444 NDT magnetic particle testing certification
• Programming and troubleshooting experience
• Detail oriented, knowledge of shop math and machining
• Excellent communication skills, time-management, and supervisory experience
