Position: Salesforce Technical Architect

Location: London | Cambridge

The Job

The Salesforce Technical Architect technical architect’s role is to take a hands-on approach during the execution of IT projects. They are experts in Salesforce Cloud technical architecture and define best practices, with experience of business transformations involving primarily sales service and experience. Their main task is to realise technical implementation processes as this requires high level of in-depth expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an integrated, global team, to design and implement high-quality Salesforce Cloud solutions that align with business objectives.

  • Lead technical design sessions, architect and document technical solutions that are aligned with the business objectives.

  • Analyse complex systems and troubleshoot and isolate system issues.

  • Provide guidance and oversight to development teams to ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices.

  • Work closely with other architects and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive working solution.

  • Understand platform limitations and design alternatives to work around limitations.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage the Salesforce platform for additional business benefits.

  • Provide detailed estimates of the level of effort associated to implement capabilities based on business requirements and solution design.

  • Identify skills’ gaps and proactively develop a plan of action for filling them.

Skills and qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, engineering, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.

  • A minimum of five years of experience in an IT solution development discipline.

  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments but specifically around sales technologies.

  • Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models.

  • Good understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.

  • Experience working in a relevant industry is helpful, but not required

  • Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies and roadmaps

  • Certified Salesforce Cloud Consultant, ideally on Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud, with proven experience of their feature and best practices. Expertise on Experience Cloud is helpful but not required.

  • Proven experience as a Technical Architect in a Salesforce environment, developed on large business transformation projects.

  • Experience with Salesforce APIs, Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and other programming languages.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver on time and on budget.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence stakeholders and team members.

  • Data savvy with knowledge of various aspects of a technology architecture like integration, network and security.

  • Proven analytical, planning, organizational and technical and skills.

  • Ability to work with developers.
