Title: Salesforce Tableau Analytics Specialist (Temporary Assignment)
Assignment Length: 4 months

We are seeking a Salesforce Tableau Analytics Specialist to support our analytics modernization efforts across Salesforce Reports/Dashboards, Data Cloud, Tableau CRM (Next), and Tableau Cloud. This contractor will build net‑new dashboards, enhance and evolve existing ones, and help unify multiple Salesforce‑ingested data sources into trusted, scalable analytical assets.

The ideal candidate is a hybrid builder‑architect: someone who can design metrics, build datasets, improve data quality, and support the development of a semantic model and governance layer that prepares the organization for AI‑driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

Salesforce Reporting & Dashboards

  • Develop net‑new Salesforce reports and Tableau dashboards that illuminate the full Sales Operations lifecycle, from Lead, to Opportunity, to Order, through Asset management
  • Improve, fix, and evolve existing reports and dashboards for accuracy, usability, and performance
  • Create advanced report types, joined reports, and optimized folder structures
  • Ensure reporting aligns with object relationships and business definitions across Leads, Opportunities, Accounts, Assets, Cases, and custom objects

Tableau Cloud & Tableau CRM (Next)

  • Develop and enhance Tableau Cloud dashboards using curated data sources
  • Expand and mature Tableau CRM (Next) semantic layer, definitions, calculations, metrics, visuals, and dashboards.
  • Use Tableau Prep to clean, blend, and transform Salesforce‑ingested data

Data Quality, Governance & Metrics

  • Help implement core business metrics (win rate, pipeline health, asset lifecycle, rep activity, etc.)
  • Build data quality monitoring dashboards and alerts
  • Assist in establishing a data governance layer and data glossary
  • Structure datasets and metrics for AI readiness (predictive insights, automated recommendations)

Advanced Analytics & Modeling

  • Combine multiple Salesforce‑ingested data sources (ERP, CPQ, product data, usage data) into unified analytical views
  • Support semantic model development by defining calculations, transformations, and metric logic
  • Translate business questions into analytical outputs that drive decision‑making

Collaboration

  • Work directly with the Sales Technologies team to prioritize work, validate outputs, and iterate
  • Provide guidance on scalable analytics architecture and best practices
  • Optional: contribute to documentation or training materials if experienced

Required Skills & Experience

Salesforce

  • Strong experience with Reports & Dashboards, report types, cross‑filters, and joined reports
  • Deep understanding of Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and custom object relationships
  • Experience building metrics and calculations within Salesforce reporting

Tableau Ecosystem

  • Proficiency with Tableau Cloud dashboard development
  • Hands‑on experience with Tableau CRM (Next) semantic layer, calculations, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Experience using Tableau Prep for data blending, cleanup, and transformation

Analytics & Data Engineering

  • Strong SQL or SAQL skills
  • Experience defining metrics and building reusable calculations
  • Ability to unify multiple data sources into coherent analytical structures
  • Experience with data quality monitoring and governance frameworks

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ Years Experience utilizing Tableau or similar analytics tools.
  • Experience supporting Sales, Service, and Product teams
  • Familiarity with semantic modeling and AI‑ready data structures
