What the Salesforce Administrator does at worldwide

The Salesforce Administrator will lead the ongoing development of the Salesforce.com deployment. The successful candidate will have a record of success in improving processes and adoption using the Force.com platform. The Salesforce Administrator will work closely with a broad range of functions within the company, including inside and outside salespeople, sales management, proposals, finance, Information Technology (IT), and other subject matter experts to develop and deploy new enhancements to the Salesforce implementation. The Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for executing the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and improvement of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.

What you will do

  • Own, manage, and drive optimization of the entire Salesforce.com (SFDC) platform

  • Establish and implement best practices regarding system maintenance, configuration, development, testing, and data integrity

  • Understand, analyze, and improve upon business systems in place, as well as integrated applications

  • Work in tandem with company leadership to design, document, build, test, and deploy enhancements to Salesforce custom objects, page layouts, workflows, alerts, reports, and complex dashboards

  • Analyze business requirements and Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) and implement them using Salesforce custom objects, junction objects, master-detail relationships, and lookup relationships

  • Maintain and support custom objects, formulas, validation rules, workflows, flows, process builder, approvals, and assignment rules

  • Create and manage custom objects, fields, formulas, validation rules, custom workflows, custom flows, custom processes, and approval processes

  • Utilize Salesforce administrator skills to continuously deliver business solutions while maintaining existing Salesforce functionality

  • Partner with management, analytics, and end users to create and manage Salesforce functionality, including workflow rules, data validation, and process builders

  • Test all new functionality before it is added into production

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in the discovery and investigation of critical production problems

  • Follow and maintain best practices in change management

  • Evaluate new Salesforce releases to determine functionality requirements and provide detailed information on how changes will apply to all affected departments and users

  • Research changes in upcoming versions of Salesforce.com and other integrated applications and provide recommendations for enhancing sales efficiency and productivity

  • Maintain database integrity and accuracy, including data cleansing and duplicate record management

  • Identify new solutions that will improve sales and marketing effectiveness

  • Manage daily administration of users, profiles, and roles, as well as customization of objects, fields, record types, and page layouts in Salesforce

  • Maintain user roles, profiles, permission sets, security, and access settings

  • Manage operational requests and reporting, including customer analysis and individual views, and troubleshoot issues

  • Work with business insights, business intelligence, and management teams to create dashboards that provide insight into business performance

  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to improve system usability

  • Develop and create customized reports and dashboards in Salesforce

  • Identify solutions to inefficient workflows

  • Maintain required documentation and proactively identify improvement opportunities through systematic measurement and analysis

  • Mentor, teach, and instruct Salesforce users in CRM best practices

  • Work with teams on core operational processes and uses of Salesforce.com (SFDC)

  • Develop training materials and provide training and support to Salesforce users

What you bring to the role

Your experience

  • Minimum of five years of professional experience, preferably in the Contract Research Organization (CRO) or healthcare industry

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Salesforce.com Administrator

  • Salesforce.com Administrator (ADM201 and ADM211) certification

  • Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Developer certifications preferred

  • Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption

  • Strong understanding of the platform, with the ability to build custom applications, objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce.com best practices and functionality

  • Strong data management abilities

  • Documented history of successfully driving projects to completion

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements

  • Experience in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, or Contract Research Organizations preferred

Promotion to the next level is not automatic based on years of experience. Personnel are evaluated on proven competency, level of responsibility, and ability to work independently.

The salary range for this position is annually (For hourly paid positions, the stated salary range reflects hourly rates):


United States of America - $84,000.00 - $167,000.00


The salary range provided is intended to give candidates an understanding of potential earnings. Compensation will fall within the provided range, and it not a guarantee of exact salary. The final salary will be determined based on relevant experience, performance, education, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, we offer a competitive benefits package depending on location. We ensure pay equity and transparency and comply with all applicable labor laws. Salary information will be discussed during the interview process, and we encourage candidates to inquire about compensation at any stage.
