We're looking for a Sr. Manager of Sales to manage and grow our business with enterprise customers in the Western region and to help GitHub win the hearts and minds of developer communities.

This leader will have the opportunity to lead a highly successful enterprise sales organization in the Enterprise West region. The leader will be responsible for building strong relationships both within and outside of GitHub. Internally this role will be responsible for leading multiple teams of Enterprise Sellers/Manager. Additionally, this role should maintain and build relationships throughout GitHub and help promote the needs of the West region. Externally this role will play a key role in helping land new customers and expanding existing accounts, and for driving growth in new products.

Candidates for this role should have a proven record of success running strategic sales cycles within the Western US. Candidates should be able to inspire teams to drive for results and think creatively about solving problems. Relationship building with both direct and indirect reports is key to success in this role. Candidates should also have an impeccable character, with high cultural sensitivity and have high standards and demands in terms of ethics and goal setting.

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Develop specific business plans and objectives tied to the strategic direction of the region together with West leadership team
  • Quantitatively and qualitatively perform territory management exercises to drive operational and seller efficiencies
  • Forecast, meet and exceed quarterly revenue targets consistently
  • Coach, mentor and train team members (managers and individual sellers) to improve sales rep productivity through deep understanding of GitHub’s solutions, value drivers to our customers, and consistent sales methodology
  • Collaborate with the wider hubber community to drive demand within their region and resources for their sellers to consistently execute (think sales processes improvements, marketing campaigns, etc.)
  • Strong desire to accomplish goals as a team vs individually
  • Develop and coach a high-performing team(managers and individual sellers) by hiring diverse talent and prioritizing development and talent management
  • Consistent focus on personal network development
  • Strong technical curiosity, (we love geeking out with our customers!) 
  • We move quickly, can adapt fast in an ever changing landscape

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience as an Enterprise Director in the West, especially within high tech and regulated industries 
  • Proven track record of consistently overachieving team revenue targets
  • Successfully sold multi-million dollar ARR deals 
  • Accountable to commitments, results, and quality to all customers, partners, and employees
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong familiarity with Platform sales cycles and transformational customer engagements
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to become deeply fluent in the GitHub's technology and the industry
  • Passion for Open source community, GitHub, and it’s developer ecosystem
  • Collaborative and team oriented
  • Ability to travel frequently (~40%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Git and GitHub
  • Deep knowledge of the developer community
  • Understanding of Force Management Methodology
  • Experience working in a direct and indirect sales model
  • Selling subscription based licenses and experience with consumption business drive
  • Security industry (specifically application security) experience
  • Understanding of the microsoft ecosystem
