Shelf Engine is searching for a talented Sales Development Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will work with multiple teams across functions to help elevate our brand within the grocery retail industry. The goal is to help Shelf Engine drive customer acquisition and build up a team of sales development representatives to help you source new leads and develop new opportunities for account executives to pursue and close. You’ll accomplish this by prospecting and relationship building in a B2B context. 

This position is based in Seattle, WA or remote. 

As a Sales Development Manager at Shelf Engine, you will: 

  • Hire, train, develop, coach, motivate, and lead a team of outbound enterprise sales development representatives
  • Develop and improve sales enablement tools including drafting scripts, testing messaging, and documenting templates and processes to drive outbound prospecting and lead generation from cold sources
  • Execute and/or supervise end-to-end sales lead activities including: prospecting, lead follow up, opportunity shaping, and qualification
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and other internal teams to generate new pipeline
  • Identify problems and proactively create and present comprehensive plans of action to senior management
  • Work closely with marketing to ensure that MQL targets are being met
  • Provide an accurate assessment of pipeline and opportunity management to senior management and account executive team 
  • Flex your program/project management skills to take a concept, build a plan, facilitate the day-to-day tasks necessary to deliver successful outcomes, and measure the results against KPIs
  • Operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment where you are empowered to problem solve, make decisions, and drive business
  • Exercise your communication and influence skills presenting and interfacing with stakeholders at all levels

What we are looking for in a candidate: 

  • You embrace our company principles: make the first move, make better decisions, be furiously curious, commit and deliver, have empathy, invent solutions, be authentic
  • You have 3+ years of relevant outbound sales development experience with proven success in prospecting, pipeline development, and forecast accuracy - inclusive of:
    • 2+ years of experience in technology sales
    • 1+ years of management experience
  • You’re curious, flexible, enjoy variety, and are willing to take on different roles/responsibilities as business needs evolve
  • Experience in sales development management, preferably in the supply chain technology space
  • Proven track record of results, exceeding goals as both an individual contributor and a team leader
  • Demonstrated efficacy building and leading a highly skilled, motivated, and successful results-orientated sales development team in a B2B SaaS setting
  • Possess self-confidence, perseverance, a sense of urgency, and considerable attention to detail
  • Contagious passion, coupled with a customer focused desire to deliver value with every market interaction
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an ability to work professionally with individuals inside and outside the company.
  • Strong project management skills are required
  • Experience with Salesforce, Groove.co (or similar platform), and ZoomInfo or similar technologies required
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Competitive total compensation for the role is $155,000-$180,000, which is a combination of base and variable. Base compensation range: $115,000-$130,000
