Your Role and Responsibilities
Cloud Computing is one of the hottest trends in the industry and has been instrumental in helping many companies transform their IT practices and build better business solutions; many are just getting started. As the leader of Hybrid Cloud, IBM has been the partner with many of these companies at they embark on the Cloud journey. IBM brings a unique portfolio of capabilities that differentiates our solutions and provides clients the right solution for their specific business problem.

The Cloud Platform Sales role is the face of IBM's Public Cloud capabilities to our clients. The objective of this position is to grow IBM's Public Cloud adoption and mind share in a defined territory of State/Local Gov & Healthcare/Pharma/ Life Sciences clients. This individual will build and grow relationships within their assigned accounts, listen for business needs, and identify potential cloud, hybrid-cloud and/or multi-cloud solutions that meets those requirements. In addition, this role requires deep collaboration with the extended IBM teams and IBM Business Partners to ensure an appropriate end to end solution is designed and proposed to the client. The Cloud Platform seller will be responsible for presenting solutions and pricing proposals to the client, partnering with the technical sales organization to ensure the solution is technically sound, and working through the entire sales processes to secure the client's business. Following the closure of an opportunity, this individual will be responsible for maintaining the relationship to ensure client satisfaction, while looking for opportunities for growth. The ideal candidate for this role would have a strong sales background, preferably in Cloud Sales with strong competitive positioning skills. Being a self-starter and willing to take an entrepreneurial view of their territory to drive new opportunities, strong communication skills to engage with C-Suite conversations and all stakeholders that influence the life cycle of an opportunity is a must. Skills/ Activities/ Action in this Role:

  • Coordinate and successfully execute of all required sales related activities within an assigned territory or set of accounts to achieve assigned financial sales objectives
  • Activities include working with and leveraging other IBM client facing teams to create demand, identify opportunities, qualify opportunities, and then directly executing high quality professional engagements that result in winning opportunities that achieve assigned targets, while providing high value customer solutions
  • Build rapport with clients and manage existing relationships to deliver a best in class service while increasing IBM's share within their environment
  • Identify markets and create opportunities to grow your client base
  • Be able to represent your business using the sales forecasting tools appropriately and accurately
  • Communicate & influence at IT Director/CIO level (Oral and Written) through understanding of requirements and articulating the business value of our solutions
  • Team with IBM's Business Partners to drive more opportunities
