Who are we looking for
The New Business Exploration team is responsible for identifying opportunities and developing strategies for new business models that drive exponential growth for Nike, Inc. To drive success, we:

  • Consider how Nike might augment our elite products & services or identify entirely new ways to bring inspiration and innovation to the athlete
  • Identify outsized growth opportunities and the capabilities required to deliver against them
  • Develop an always-evolving and nuanced understanding of external innovation and marketplace ecosystems
  • Build insightful hypotheses on how specific opportunities might propel the Nike business forward and maintain what makes us successful
  • Build comprehensive business cases, strategic theses, and drive leadership alignment


This professional will be a key business partner to senior leadership and will be highly visible at the most senior levels of Nike. The ideal candidate is an ambitious thinker who can make convincing, data-based arguments, enjoys diving deep into complex problems, works optimally with cross-functional teams, and thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. New Business Exploration is a small, tight-knit team who values authentic, strong-willed individuals that think creatively and proactively seek out opportunities to identify and advance growth initiatives.
What you will work on
This role is truly enterprise in nature & scope. You will engage closely with teammates in the broader strategy function, but you will be expected to:

  • Identify appropriate opportunities that support Nike's strategic priorities through interaction with senior business leaders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investment bankers, and organic pipeline generation
  • Evaluate the benefits, risks, and synergies of potential acquisitions and investments
  • Establish processes and strategy that enable Nike to achieve our strategic priorities



What you bring

  • 6+ years of experience (2+ years' experience post-MBA) is required with an MBA/Master's degree and work experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity/venture capital, corporate development, business development or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • Or 10+ years total, meaningful experience is required equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial models
  • Experience conducting and/or analyzing research related to consumers, industries and competitors
  • Demonstrated problem structuring and strategic problem-solving skills with experience leading multiple simultaneous projects
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and influence across a cross-functional, matrixed environment
  • A curiosity about framing opportunities, synthesizing ambitious concepts and comfort with ambiguity
