Daifuku Cleanroom Automation America Corporation, the North American affiliate of Daifuku Japan Co., Ltd. is a dynamic high-tech company specializing in cleanroom automated material handling systems and seeking a Sales Engineer for the Chandler, AZ Office.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Director of Sales or Sales Manager, a Sales Engineer is responsible for sales activities from "obtaining and developing leads" to successful completion of the installation of a machine. Proficiency in Japanese language will be a plus as there will be communications with our headquarters in Japan. Specific activities will include, but are not limited to, maintaining existing customers and obtaining new business opportunities and developing them into sales projects. There may also be work involving new products/services. Must be able to identify all issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales and tool ownership. This position is required to work overtime and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Sales Activities

  1. Obtain sales leads via existing and soon-to-be customers.
  2. Determine the automation needs of each project through discussions.
  3. Discuss internally with engineering for potential solution to the needs.
  4. Once specifications are set, determine internal cost of the solution and compose an appropriate sales quote.
  5. Present the proposal to the customer with equipment specifications and conditions.
  6. Revise proposal if necessary, until all aspects are agreed upon.
  7. Receive and process purchase orders from customers by setting up an official sales project with a budget based on internal costs previously obtained.
  8. Determine precise shipping and installation schedule.
  9. Maintain and manage budget through the end of the project.



Qualifications

This position will require:

  • Strong Oral and written communication skills
  • Japanese language proficiency would be a plus.
  • Be deadline oriented, organized and analytical.
  • Possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in accordance with strategies set by the company.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc.). Proficiency in SAP and CAD viewers helpful.
  • Be able to respond and follow up on questions and inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Be able to handle high-pressure and stressful situations.
  • Must be self-motived with a track record in sales.
  • Required to travel (domestically and internationally up to 40%) and work overtime (up to 50%).
