Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Buyer to support Powin’s procurement activities. This individual will be a member of our Global Procurement organization, supporting the development, implementation, and management of strategic suppliers to provide Powin with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. The Buyer will build and leverage strong working relationships with engineering, quality teams, key suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. Responsible for working towards good supplier relationships to achieve maximum advantage for Powin and customers.
Job Details:
- Obtain goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies for the organization
- Review requisitions and places purchase orders
- Work with suppliers to obtain vital information including product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
- Review bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
- Manage delivery of goods to ensure continuity of supply and adequate inventory levels
- Maintains open purchase orders to ensure accuracy of information
- Monitors supplier performance and engages with suppliers when appropriate
- Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery info, product quality or performance, and inventories
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality, production, suppliers, and others to determine source of issue and take corrective action
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent in training/experience
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing environment or equivalent amount in a combination of education and experience
- Must be able to speak Chinese
- Ability to effectively negotiate price, delivery, and terms to meet quality requirements and production schedule timelines
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP system experience. NetSuite experience is a plus
- Good understanding of inventory management techniques including safety stock, carry costs and obsolescence
- Must be able to succeed in dynamic, high change environment
