The Role

Purpose:

The Shoring Specialist/advisor (herein known as SSA) will seek out new projects and develop shoring opportunities from conception to installation. The shoring specialist will provide our customers with a knowledgeable link between the products manufactured by our company, and the practical use of those products from the prospective of a professional who has worked in the underground excavation and civil construction industry. Open-mindedness, creativity and innovation are key components to the function of the Special Operations Shoring Division (SSOD), therefore communication of new ideas, shared knowledge of past experiences, and collaboration on project solutions is encouraged.

Essential Functions:

Primary:

The SSA's primary duty is to develop new shoring opportunities from researching local and national job reporting publications, field calls from dealers and contractors, and to use his/her background and experience to find inventive ways to utilize our equipment to solve shoring solutions.

The SSA will also be required to work with the CAD department as required and develop proposals for these potential shoring projects using Excell, Word and Navision programs provided for that purpose.

When these projects are fully developed, the SSA will follow the process from deliveries of equipment, to traveling to the project jobsite and providing installation advisement. The actual on-site participation required of the SSA will depend on the volume of the work on hand, the talent level of the customers workforce, the amount of time quoted to the customer, and the availability of other advisors. Frequency of both in and out of state travel will depend solely on the workload and availability of other advisors. Travel costs are paid by Arcosa Shoring Products and could consist of overnights Mon-Fri.

The SSA will be required to research and development projects, participate in year-end physical inventory, travel to prospective customer locations and industry trade shows as needed to promote our products, and other unspecified duties.

Performance Expectations:

It is expected that the SSA will arrive to work on time, ready to work, in a neat and presentable manner, dressed in slacks or jeans, and a company provided shirt. The SSA will discharge their duties as described above. Always mindful of the company's interests and the purpose of our existence, which to provide professional support to our customers and drive results for our company.
