Sales Tax Analyst

“Gauges” of Responsibility 

• Motor Fuel Compliance 
  • Generate monthly PDI fuel reports, reconcile to monthly Avalara export and prepare actual motor fuel tax returns for Alliance Energy and mock fuel tax returns for Global Companies and Global Montello Group.
  • Renew motor fuel licenses and tax bonds in all jurisdictions
  • Maintain the tax database in the PDI and Avalara systems, including troubleshooting Avalara system problems.
  • Prepare semi-annual gas shrinkage reports or road toll bureau refund returns for agents and dealers in certain states
• Sales Tax Compliance 
  • Generate monthly RMS reports to obtain sales tax data for the taxing period and gather cigarette prepaid sales tax information from the distributor
  • Enter all sales tax data into the department’s sales and use tax excel spreadsheet
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, or annual sales tax, meals tax, and prepaid wireless tax returns for Global Montello Group, Alliance Energy and Global Companies as needed
  • Prepare electronic or check payment requests for tax payments
• Journal Entries and Tax Reconciliations 
  • Create and upload all monthly journal entries for fuel taxes, property taxes, sales, and use taxes and rent security deposits for Alliance Energy, Global Companies and Global Montello Group
  • Prepare all monthly general ledger reconciliations for fuel taxes, property taxes, and sales and use taxes and rent security deposits for all companies

Qualifications:

• 2 plus years of experience in Tax Accounting.
• Knowledge of PDI and Avalara helpful but not required.
• Must be willing to work night shift schedules (US hours) and during PH Holidays.
• Must be able to work at Alabang, Muntinlupa when work in the office resumes (temp WFH).

Education Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree.
