JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner closely with Producer(s) on qualified prospective accounts to develop and advance new business opportunities. 
  • Exercise independent judgement and a high degree of diligence in gathering prospect information including insurance policies, exposures, insurance carrier loss information, and other relevant data pertaining to the organization’s risk profile.  This includes conducting independent research and determining the nature and extent of detailed information on exposures and other pertinent data necessary to identify insurance coverage gaps. 
  • Collect and independently analyze prospect information, including in-depth policy review and loss history analysis, identifying opportunities for coverage enhancements and risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare first draft of the Underwriting Submission and work with Strategic Marketing to market the account to insurance companies. This includes identifying, gathering, and analyzing the data used in the Underwriting Submission presented to the insurance markets.
  • Work in close partnership with Strategic Marketing to support and at times, directly handle the negotiation of terms and place insurance coverage aligned with the prospect’s risk profile and account strategy.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Strategic Marketing, and Service teams to meet deadlines and deliverables, helping to drive the deal forward to close.
  • Serve as a liaison to Account Management and other service teams to address and fulfill requests from new and prospective clients.
  • Under the direction of the Producer(s), support Proposal preparation and finalize all documents related to the sales process.
  • Responsible for following all policies and procedures to ensure consistency and quality in all program analysis processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with insurance company underwriters.
  • Pursue a program for professional development.
  • Fulfill other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Attend meetings related to position.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Two (2) or more years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Sales-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to drive workflows forward to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytic capabilities.
  • Ability to independently analyze and work with high-volume, complex, detail-oriented material on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in analysis and decision-making.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of self-discipline and motivation.
  • Above-average mathematical, verbal and writing skills.
  • Ability to understand and analyze commercial lines coverages, forms, and policies.

  • Regular and predictable attendance in accordance with the limitations and reporting procedures established by The Graham Company from time to time.
  • Employees are required to be fit-for-duty which includes not being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.  This includes any drugs that might impact an employee’s ability to safely perform their job.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $65,000 - $75,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
