Engineering Manager__
We are looking for a new colleague to join our European Operations Center in Ostrava in the position of Engineer for Digitalization / Industry 4.0 with a focus on Bid & Proposal. You will contribute to the creation of proposals and support sales activities in the field of cutting-edge digital solutions for industry, energy, and infrastructure worldwide. You will become part of ABB’s international environment and work alongside experts shaping the future of digitalization, automation, and sustainable energy.
This position is suitable for experienced professionals as well as junior candidates and graduates interested in digitalization, automation, and IT.
Job Responsibilities
- Supporting the team in preparing proposals and concepts for digital solutions in industry and energy
- Reviewing customer requirements and specifications and translating them into technical solution concepts
- Supporting the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, including solution scope, costing, pricing, and documentation
- Understanding ABB’s portfolio of digital solutions (Automation and Energy Industries)
- Collaboration on solutions in areas such as AI/ML, Digital Twin, Predictive Optimization & Condition Monitoring, Energy Management, MES Systems, Cyber Security, etc.
- Close cooperation with Sales and digitalization, automation, electrical, systems, and software development teams to develop competitive and technically compliant solutions
- Supporting cost calculations and collecting technical and commercial inputs from internal teams and external suppliers
- Participating in (internal) customer meetings and technical discussions during the proposal phase
- Ensuring that proposals meet customer requirements, ABB standards, and defined technical and commercial conditions
- Supporting the handover of successful proposals to project execution teams
- Occasional travel to customer sites
Who We Are Looking For
- Secondary or university education in electrical engineering, IT, technology fields, or experience in customer communication focused on technical or IT solutions
- Interest in working with the latest technologies and trends in digitalization
- Analytical thinking and the ability to understand technical and commercial requirements
- Ability to work with and structure technical information and documentation
- Customer-oriented mindset and interest in combining technology with business
- Active knowledge of English, both written and spoken (B1 level or higher)
- Proactive, communicative, and able to work independently
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Confidence in working within an international environment
- Previous experience with all listed technologies is not required – we are looking for curiosity, technical thinking, and a willingness to learn.
