Sales Representative

Huntsman is seeking a Sales Representative supporting the Elastomers Division located in Auburn Hills, MI; Derry, New Hampshire; Chicago, IL; Remote Northeast, Midwest, Southeast. This position will report to the Sales Manager – Elastomers, Americas.

Job Scope

The Sales Representative will be responsible for profitably growing sales of the Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) product line in alignment with the Elastomers division’s business strategy. This individual will manage existing customers and actively pursue new business opportunities within an assigned regional territory.

In summary, as the Sales Representative, you will:
  • Manage the full sales process: identify, qualify, quote, close, develop, and grow business.

  • Achieve assigned sales targets for both existing and new customers.

  • Prospect (hunt) for new business while maintaining and expanding current accounts.

  • Develop account plans, budgets, and forecasts to meet agreed commercial goals.

  • Support senior Account Managers in servicing existing clients.

  • Negotiate pricing and contractual terms with both new and existing accounts.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with engineers, buyers, and key stakeholders.

  • Analyze and report market trends, competitor activity, and product penetration.

  • Use C4C CRM tools for reporting and lead tracking.

  • Collaborate with internal functions (Customer Service, Technical, Supply Chain, etc.) to ensure high service levels.

  • Deliver professional sales presentations internally and externally.

  • Travel within the assigned territory (approximately 50%).

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or Business.

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a sales or account management role.

  • Strong understanding of B2B sales and customer relationship management.

  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% within the region.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Polyurethanes and Thermoplastic Polyurethanes (TPU) is highly desirable.

  • Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them effectively.

  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and resilient under pressure.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.

  • Collaborative team player with leadership potential.

  • Excellent relationship-building and follow-up skills.

  • Ability to work across functions and influence decision-makers.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the elastomers or plastics industry.

  • Familiarity with C4C (SAP Customer Relationship Management system).

  • Prior experience handling technical sales or industrial chemical products.

  • Multilingual abilities (English + another relevant language) is a plus.

Working Environment
  • Home-based or office-based depending on location, with frequent regional travel.

  • Regular use of CRM systems, email, video conferencing, and digital communication tools.

  • Occasional visits to manufacturing sites and customer facilities required.
