This position is Monday-Friday mostly remote but, would be required to come into the office at times.
The Sales Proposal Developer leads the preparation, writing, formatting and submission of winning proposals. In this role, the Sales Proposal Developer mobilizes cross-functional team members to respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Quotes (RFQs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and manages the development process to ensure on-time delivery of compelling, compliant, and well-written proposals. This position leads researching, writing, and producing a high volume of client-facing documentation on behalf of Select Health in support of an array of products and programs. This role successfully communicates and collaborates with a variety of internal stakeholders including but not limited to Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Reporting, Senior Executives, and other subject matter experts as needed. A highly visible role, the incumbent exhibits strong writing skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to generate creative ideas while working both independently and collaboratively. The incumbent is a self-starter who works well under pressure to meet or beat deadlines, leads by example, and keeps impacted caregivers informed of both procedural and content changes.
We are looking for individuals that are not afraid to innovate and push ideas to change the current PBM landscape. We need people that are skilled technical writers, that have some understanding of the PBM business and who are not afraid to be creative as we develop RFP responses and proposals for potential clients in the market. Working knowledge of employee benefits would be helpful.

Essential Functions

  • Writes persuasively, including RFP responses, executive summaries, and other critical deliverable components like actions from meetings and debrief summaries. Provides single voice editing to ensure proposals are clear and concise. Improves organization, flow, readability, completeness, and clarity of proposals.
  • Acts as the central point of contact on assigned proposals and leads and guides the work.
  • Analyzes RFPs, RFQs and RFIs to create proposal outlines and development plans.
  • Directs proposal kickoff and debrief meetings, as well as prepares detailed proposal plans, schedules, and outlines for all phases of proposal development.
  • Outlines winning themes, value propositions, strengths, and differentiated solutions to initial proposal outline.
  • Works closely with sales, marketing, product management, and other subject matter experts to complete the formulation of 'win strategies and themes' (taking into account strategic relationships, competitor intelligence, etc.) and ensures the message is articulated throughout the proposal.
  • Facilitates multi-disciplined groups in brainstorming and developing solutions to key aspects of the proposal providing tactical advice and guidance with the ability to drive strategy and solutions that result in winning submissions. Solicits subject matter expert, leadership, compliance and legal reviews and approvals during proposal development. Monitors proposal content to ensure compliance to RFP requirements and evaluation criteria.
  • Researches and gathers information to include corporate information, product information, and other standard materials.
  • Creates, maintains, augments, and improves library of boilerplate content and responses, templates, and processes to reduce response time and improve quality on future proposals.
  • During non-peak season for proposals, assists with product marketing responsibilities, including creating or updating sales enablement materials, go-to-market planning, and other similar work.
  • Debriefs with teams after proposal submittal. Interviews team members on successful or unsuccessful strategies and tactics. Facilitates and records a retrospective assessment on proposals, and refines future proposal strategies, process, templates, and training.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Demonstrated excellent writing, grammar, spelling ability, presentation, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across organizations with effective communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a deadline-conscious, results-driven environment with excellent time management skills, perform well under pressure to meet critical deadlines, be detailed oriented, organized, accurate, and fulfill responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced knowledge of word processing and other office software, desktop publishing programs, and multi-media presentation tools. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Prior experience in writing, editing, and proofreading in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations, or with an ad agency.
  • Prior professional experience in business communications.
  • Prior health insurance or healthcare industry experience.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
  • Five years of work experience writing and editing proposals in a sales environment.
  • Demonstrated detailed understanding of the SelectHealth products and services.
  • Demonstrated professionalism in judgment and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated diplomacy and tact in presenting RFPs to varied audiences.
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
