Sales Planning and Performance Specialist

Job Summary

The Sales Planning and Performance Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the Sales Planning and Performance team by providing analytical, system, and administrative expertise. This position is responsible for extracting, analyzing, and maintaining sales data to support planning activities, sales performance measurement, and incentive compensation processes.

The role serves as a key point of contact for reporting, system support, and customized data requests, ensuring that sales teams and leadership have accurate, timely, and actionable information to drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Extract, validate, and analyze key sales data to measure business and sales performance.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to provide actionable insights to management.
  • Support leadership with sales performance analysis, forecasting, and business planning activities.
  • Maintain the integrity of sales-related databases, ensuring information such as account alignments, sales goals, and territory structures remains accurate and up to date.
  • Create and optimize databases, reports, and data queries to improve analytical capabilities and reporting efficiency.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and performance gaps through data analysis and reporting.

Sales Planning Support

  • Provide system and tool support to assist countries and business units throughout the sales planning cycle.
  • Conduct data-driven analyses, including account segmentation, territory alignment, workload balancing, and equity assessments.
  • Compare historical and current performance results against proposed sales plans to evaluate effectiveness and support decision-making.
  • Monitor and track planning activities to ensure timelines are met and processes are completed efficiently.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support the implementation and continuous improvement of sales planning initiatives.

Incentive Compensation Administration

  • Generate sales compensation and incentive reports for management review and approval.
  • Support the calculation of sales incentive payments, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with established compensation programs.
  • Perform manual adjustments and validations when required to ensure accurate incentive payouts.
  • Respond to questions and inquiries related to incentive compensation processes and payments.
  • Assist with the administration, documentation, and communication of sales compensation programs.

Data Management & Process Improvement

  • Create clear, user-friendly data presentations and reporting formats that highlight key performance indicators and business trends.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, systems, and data quality.
  • Support automation initiatives that enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across sales planning and compensation systems.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in sales operations, sales planning, business analytics, compensation administration, or a related function.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with large datasets.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools, databases, and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
