Position overview
The Sales Operations Manager is a strategic partner to sales leadership, focused on scaling sales efficiency and driving revenue growth. This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire sales process, from strategy design to technology implementation and performance analysis.
Key responsibilities
Strategic planning: Partner with sales leaders to define sales strategies, including territory planning, quota setting, and market segmentation.
Sales process optimization: Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the sales funnel and develop data-backed solutions to streamline the process.
Performance management: Develop and track key performance metrics (KPIs) and provide sales leadership with accurate forecasting, performance reports, and dashboards.
Sales technology ownership: Evaluate, implement, and manage the sales technology stack, including CRM and sales automation tools, and ensure high user adoption.
Sales compensation: Assist in the design and administration of sales compensation plans that motivate the team and align with business objectives.
Enablement and training: Work with Sales Enablement to provide new hire onboarding and ongoing training on new tools and processes.
Cross-departmental leadership: Collaborate with other departments like Marketing and Finance to align on shared goals and ensure seamless hand-off between teams.
Required skills and qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience in sales operations, with at least 2–3 years in a management role, preferably within a SaaS or B2B tech company.
Technical expertise: Deep knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., Hubspot) and experience with a wide range of sales tools and Business Intelligence (BI) platforms.
Analytical skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data sets, interpret sales metrics, and translate findings into actionable strategies.
Strategic thinking: Ability to think strategically and long-term while also managing tactical daily operations.
Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for negotiating and building relationships across departments.
Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
