Job Summary

Are you passionate about sales, building strong business relationships, and turning ideas into results? Join P&G as a Sales Manager in the Traditional Trade Channel, based in Trujillo and responsible for Trujillo and Chimbote.

In this role, you will manage the distributor relationship and guide its sales force to achieve sales targets and drive sustainable growth across our product categories. You will combine data analysis and strategic planning with hands-on field execution—identifying opportunities, developing actionable plans, and following through to ensure results.

This position requires influence and collaboration with the distributor’s sales team rather than direct management of P&G employees. It offers opportunities to develop your commercial and leadership skills while making a meaningful business impact.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the distributor relationship: Build strong working relationships with the distributor and its sales teams across Trujillo and Chimbote, aligning on sales targets, priorities, and execution plans.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies: Translate business objectives and market opportunities into practical plans that drive sales and growth across P&G categories.
  • Analyze sales performance: Use sales data and field insights to monitor progress against targets, identify performance gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Drive field execution: Conduct regular field visits alongside sellers to understand market dynamics, assess execution, and turn growth opportunities into measurable results.
  • Guide and coach the distributor’s sales force: Communicate objectives, provide training, and build credibility through channel knowledge and actionable guidance.
  • Follow through on results: Track action plans consistently and adjust strategies based on performance, seller feedback, and market conditions.
  • Collaborate and innovate: Listen to the sales team’s ideas, share relevant information, and implement improvements that address local business needs.
  • Maintain operational discipline: Organize priorities effectively, learn company processes quickly, and comply with applicable internal policies and stewardship requirements.

Job Qualifications

Required Background
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Relevant sales experience in Traditional Trade and consumer goods, with practical knowledge of distributor operations and field sales.
  • Ability to be based in Trujillo, conduct regular field visits, and travel to Chimbote approximately once or twice per month.
  • Strong written and spoken Spanish.

  • Traditional Trade Expertise
    Understanding of channel dynamics, distributor relationships, and sellers’ day-to-day challenges, with the ability to apply that knowledge to commercial decisions.
  • Analytical Skills and Practical Excel Proficiency
    Ability to analyze sales data, identify trends and opportunities, and translate insights into actions. Comfortable using Excel formulas and lookup functions; macros are not required.
  • Strategic Planning and Hands-On Execution
    Ability to create actionable sales plans, prioritize effectively, solve problems, and maintain consistent follow-up to deliver results.
  • Communication, Relationship Building, and Influence
    Ability to communicate clearly, establish credibility, and coach and motivate a distributor’s sales force without relying on direct reporting authority.
  • Adaptability, Collaboration, and Initiative
    Ability to learn processes quickly, work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, incorporate team feedback, and proactively bring forward new ideas. Strong motivation to learn and grow within the organization.

  • Business or marketing specialization: A degree focused on business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Sales analytics tools: Familiarity with Salesforce, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities: Advanced reporting, automation, or other capabilities beyond the practical analysis required for the role.
