I-State Truck Center, the premier dealer for Freightliner, Western Star, Battle, and Isuzu trucks as well as Fruehauf trailers, is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Truck Sales Manager to lead truck and trailer sales operations across our Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Sioux City, Iowa locations.

As a regional leader, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, coaching and mentoring truck sales professionals, expanding market share, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role is ideal for a proven sales leader with a passion for the transportation industry and a track record of building high-performing teams.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage new and used truck sales operations for both Sioux Falls and Sioux City locations.
  • Recruit, coach, develop, and hold accountable a team of truck sales representatives.
  • Establish sales goals, performance metrics, and growth strategies to achieve revenue and market share objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, fleets, municipalities, and owner-operators throughout the region.
  • Partner with Freightliner and Western Star manufacturer representatives on sales programs and market opportunities.
  • Drive prospecting efforts, customer retention initiatives, and business development activities.
  • Review inventory levels and collaborate with leadership to ensure proper truck stocking strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customers’ needs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Participate in customer visits, trade shows, truck expos, and industry events.
  • Collaborate with Parts, Service, Financing, and Administrative teams to ensure seamless customer experience.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, manage budgets, and deliver regular performance reports to leadership.
  • Ensure all sales transactions and documentation are completed accurately and in compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of successful sales leadership experience in heavy-duty truck, commercial vehicle, transportation, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or related industries.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of Class 6, 7, and 8 truck markets.
  • Knowledge of Freightliner, Western Star, or comparable commercial truck brands preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze sales trends and performance data.
  • Self-motivated with exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • CDL preferred or ability to obtain one if required.
