The Sales Manager will be managing 6 direct reports, consisting of Territory Sales Managers (TSM) who are managing teams of KAMs, Ams, ISAMs and DAMs. The Sales Manager is responsible for leading, developing and supporting the sales team to achieve the short-term goals and objectives defined in the business plan for the UK & Ireland region as well as setting the long-term strategy for UK/IRL to support the Regions success.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The person will set the Sales strategy for UK/IRL and lead the team on an ongoing basis; ensuring growth and clear business plans, as well as aligning activities and set KPI’s in line with our business growth targets. Provision of ongoing accurate sales forecasting and monthly analysis of the business along with structured pipeline management for the UK is an important aspect of the role. Your will have a good understanding on the market trends and the market landscape and make sure that the business plans and sales team sales efforts and activities contribute in the right way to reach targets.

The role will also require input to the forecast period in relation to future sales projections and interface into the senior management team on a regular basis. A key objective will be to work with the TSMs to ensure each function acts as a “virtual” team and take ownership and be accountable for the sales in each territory. In addition, effective co-operation and alignment with the other functions such as marketing and sales engineering is essential to ensure activities and plans are aligned with regional business priorities.

The UK & Ireland Sales Manager is expected to take decisions in complex sales situations and be a point of escalation for customer and project queries to the TSM and Distribution roles. You will be a role model and an ambassador for our core values both internally and externally.

Some key responsibilities for the role are:

  • Develop of the strategy and set growth targets for UK/IRL overall and for each territory within the UK/Ireland region, together with the TSMs. 
  • Build relationships with channel partners to ensure knowledge of their strategies, business objectives and market potential.
  • Proactive Axis representation in key industry associations & events/trade shows/conferences and drive follow up the return of sales.
  • Networking in the Security Industry and building rapport and relationships with senior level executives at Axis partners.
  • Participate and organise internal sales meetings and regional management meetings.
  • Work in close collaboration with Regional Marketing Manager to ensure marketing activities are relevant, timely and meeting needs.
  • Provide guidance/transfer of knowledge to your team. Facilitate support, coaching and development to develop skills.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews for the team, identifying areas of development for individuals and closing gaps.
  • Ensure support continuous performance, skills and behaviours improvement in the role and look for breadth into roles as development.
  • Proactively keep ahead of market developments which may impact future direction and strategy.

  • Degree in Business Administration or relevant working experience
  • Experience of working through indirect channels
  • Track record of delivery of and achievement of sales targets working through a team
  • Experience of diverse stakeholder management internally and externally
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building skills and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to manage time and multiple activities in an organised and structured way
  • First class communication, presentation skills and written skills
  • Able to travel. Approximately 50% of role involves travel: UK office in Luton, HQ in Sweden, events, sales meetings, customer visits, etc
