Role Overview
The Sales Manager will drive business growth across assigned accounts and supplier portfolios within the Food & Nutrition segment. This role combines commercial leadership, technical application support, and strategic account management to expand market share, strengthen customer relationships, and deliver sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Account Management & Business Development
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts while actively developing new business opportunities within assigned territories and segments.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key industrial customers, acting as a trusted commercial and technical partner.
- Identify new market opportunities and drive penetration into targeted accounts.
2. Technical Sales & Application Support
- Provide value-driven technical support including product recommendations, formulation guidance, and cost optimization solutions.
- Support customer trials, product development, and reformulation projects in collaboration with technical and supplier teams.
- Conduct product training and knowledge-sharing sessions with customers and internal teams
3. Commercial Execution & Pipeline Management
- Manage and drive project pipelines through CRM, ensuring timely follow-up and conversion into commercial success.
- Prepare and deliver sales forecasts to support supply chain planning and inventory management.
- Execute pricing strategies, quotations, and negotiations aligned with business objectives.
4. Supplier & Portfolio Management
- Lead assigned supplier relationships by aligning on commercial strategies, growth targets, and market priorities.
- Drive joint business planning, campaign execution, and product positioning in the market.
- Ensure accurate demand forecasting and effective communication with principals.
5. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities (pricing, product launches, positioning).
- Provide actionable insights to management and principals to support strategic decision-making.
6. Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting including call reports, pipeline updates, and sales performance reviews.
- Conduct regular territory and account analyses to identify gaps, growth opportunities and align with Business Director for the business strategy.
7. Customer Service & Issue Resolution
- Manage customer concerns proactively by identifying root causes, proposing solutions, and ensuring timely resolution.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams (CS, supply chain, technical) to ensure service excellence.
Skills Required
- Account management and business development experience in industrial or ingredient markets
- Technical knowledge of food and nutrition product formulation and application support
- Experience using CRM to manage pipelines, forecasts, and sales activities
- Experience supporting customer trials, product development, and reformulation projects
- Supplier and portfolio management experience, including joint business planning
- Strong commercial skills including pricing, quotations, and negotiation
- Ability to conduct product training and knowledge-sharing with customers and internal teams
- Experience in market intelligence, competitive analysis, and reporting
