selfpublishing.com is a back-to-back-to-back INC 5000 company & we're launching our Summer 2027 Sales Internship Program. Our mission is to TRANSFORM THE LIVES of authors by helping them write and publish books, grow their businesses, and launch their author careers!
As a Sales Intern, you'll work as a Sales Development Rep (SDR) on our team. You'll call warm leads, people who already raised their hand by grabbing a free book, training, or challenge from us. You'll learn about their book, find out what's been holding them back, and book them a free strategy call with one of our Publishing Strategists.
We get 400+ new leads every day. No cold calling strangers. These are people who want to write a book and need someone to help them take the next step.
This is an in-person summer internship based in our Westlake (Austin) office.
You'll be on the phones from week 1, with daily coaching to get you sharp fast. Your north star? Booking qualified strategy calls for our Publishing Strategists. 📞
More specifically, you'll:
- 📞Call warm leads who opted into our free resources, like Chandler Bolt's bookPublished.or the 24 Hour Book Outline Challenge
- 🔍Run discovery conversations about what they want to write and what's been stopping them
- 📅Book qualified strategy calls on our Publishing Strategists' calendars
- 🗂️Track every call and next step in our CRM
- 🎧Review your calls with a coach each week and level up fast
- 🏆Compete on the team leaderboard and hit daily and weekly targets
- 🎤Top performers may join us at live events to book appointments in person
- 🧠The same sales playbook and scripts our full-time SDRs use
- 💬How to run a discovery call that helps people open up about their goals
- 🛡️How to handle objections without being pushy
- 📊How to work a pipeline, use a CRM, and manage your own numbers
- 💸How a high-growth sales team turns leads into real revenue
Who We're Looking For:
- College students in any major (business, marketing, communications, and sales programs are a great fit)
- Competitive. Maybe you play a sport, compete in debate, or just hate losing
- Great with people and comfortable starting conversations with strangers
- Coachable. You take feedback and use it on the very next call
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to hit daily targets on your own
- You believe books change lives (bonus if you love to read)
- 🚀Top interns may earn a full-time SDR offer. We promote from within.
Skills Required
- Currently enrolled college student in any major
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable starting conversations with strangers
- Competitive and motivated to meet daily and weekly targets
- Coachable and able to apply feedback quickly
- Self-motivated and organized
- Interest in books and helping authors
