About the Opportunity:

The Sales Executive, Japan is a Sales Hunter and highly strategic role focused on the acquisition of new large and/or strategic accounts. This role requires a seasoned sales professional with a proven track record of success in targeting and opening up new business opportunities. The Sales Executive, Japan will be responsible for gathering competitive intelligence, developing a targeted customer strategy, and driving new business from prospecting to closing. Utilizing sales tools and methodologies, the Sales Executive, Japan will manage a pipeline of early-stage leads to successful sales conversion.

The Day to Day:

  •  Conduct in-depth research to gather intelligence on market trends and competitors, utilizing insights to craft customer targeting strategies.

  • Develop, in conjunction with the sales manager and marketing team, a customer targeting strategy to identify high-potential prospects.

  • Actively hunt for new business opportunities based on the targeting strategy and prospect lists across all assigned market segments.

  • Follow up on and pursue qualified leads provided by Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.

  • Maintain and manage a pipeline of early-stage leads, ensuring consistent flow and progression of prospects through the sales funnel.

  • Collaborate with product specialists and other relevant team members to provide comprehensive solutions to customers and close deals effectively.

  • Oversee the sales closure process and ensure that completion activities, including fulfillment, are executed flawlessly.

  • Use established sales tools and methodology to manage customer and opportunity data effectively, ensuring accurate forecasting and strategic account planning. 

What you’ll Bring to the Role:

  • At least 5 years of experience in B2B sales, with a focus on new business acquisition in large or strategic accounts.

  • Native or bilingual proficiency in Japanese language, as well as full professional proficiency in English.

  • Well maintained professional network in particular industry fields or verticals is a plus

  • Knowledge and experience of the digital content and ‘as a service’ business model is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field; Master’s degree or equivalent is a plus.

  • Demonstrated success in developing customer targeting strategies and converting leads into sales.

  • Proficient in using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales methodologies to manage sales cycles and client data.

  • Experience in managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing and fulfillment.

  •  A strategic thinker and executor skilled at identifying and opening up new business opportunities.

  • Strong analytical ability to understand / foresee market dynamics and leverage competitive intelligence to gain an edge.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of engaging with high-level decision-makers and influencers.

  • A collaborative team player who can work with cross-functional teams, including product specialists, to deliver customer-centric solutions.

  • Highly organized with a proven ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously without compromising attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated and driven, with a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
