How YOU will make a Difference:
The Sales Executive represents HMA by selling all lines of HMA business including Medical, Dental, Vision, as well as various solution products and programs as available targeted in the 100+ employee market. This role is primarily responsible for educating and partnering with producers in Utah and Southern Idaho in order to grow HMA's book of business. Your role is to demonstrate knowledge and expertise regarding self-insured funding options. You will develop producer relationships and strategically manage your territory, selling exclusively through the broker/producer distribution channel, and collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to ensure our clients' satisfaction throughout the onboarding process and beyond.
You must be currently licensed, or must become licensed within 90 days of hire to sell insurance (health, life, and /or disability) in WA and UT. Prior to receiving a license, staff are not allowed to engage in soliciting or selling activities and will not be eligible for sales incentive compensation.
What YOU will do:

  • Be an ambassador for HMA across the communities we serve
  • Drive new business by meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Successfully manage and build relationships with producers and clients
  • The position will be located in Utah and home based, dependent on work history and qualifications.
  • Territory will be working with brokers based in Utah and Southern Idaho.
  • Based on location, up to 25% travel will be required.
  • Work closely with the Proposal Coordinators to qualify and provide a timely response to RFPs, RFIs and questionnaires.
  • Work with Sales Operations on implementations/onboarding and facilitate successful transition of new business to Client Success Team
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of self-funding options, stop loss underwriting requirements and PBM offerings. Be nimble and adept at validating customer/prospect needs and matching those needs with current solution offerings that add value
  • Serve as champion and subject matter expert for specific sales topics and provide regular updates to the rest of the sales and client success teams as well as, more broadly, HMA when called upon
  • Create, plan and execute business and social events to build relationships with key producers, customers, prospects and associations
  • Expertly lead presentations in a variety of settings for diverse groups of people including formal, one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, and in front of leaders and business decision makers
  • Build and maintain strong networks by participating in or sitting on boards of industry and affinity groups


Knowledge, Experience, and Key Attributes needed for Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-7+ years of sales experience required
  • 5+ years in employee benefits required
  • A proven record of accomplishment achieving sales goals and transitioning accounts
  • Ability to develop and execute a long-term strategic plan to win business, including maintaining a top prospect list and sales pipeline
  • Detailed understanding of complexities with ability to communicate and to negotiate all areas related to the sales functions (e.g. underwriting, value proposition, sales, renewals, etc.)
  • Ability to engage in community/networking opportunities outside of normal business hours
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective business relationships
  • Displays an enthusiastic, fully committed and self-directed approach to work
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and negotiate all areas related to sales functions (e.g. underwriting, value proposition, sales, renewals, etc.)
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to tailor content and presentation type by audience and setting
  • Intermediate proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, SalesForce, MS Teams, MSDynamics and presentation programs such as MS PowerPoint


Compensation:
The base salary range for this position in the greater Seattle area is $109,000 - $144,000 and varies dependent on geography, skills, experience, education, and other job or market-related factors. Performance-based incentive bonus(es) is available. HMA is primarily a remote workforce, requires a reliable internet connection, and provides all hardware. Some roles are required onsite 1-3 days per week/month while other roles are 100% remote.
