Job Description

Together with the Sales Manager, you will make an important contribution to sales success during the pre-contract phase of a project. Your responsibilities include identifying customer needs, developing and evaluating the appropriate logistics solutions, leading the preparation of sales proposals, and presenting these solutions to customers. In collaboration with the Sales Manager and the Sales Engineering team, you will build and maintain constructive working relationships with customers while defining the appropriate sales strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the conceptual solution development during the Joint Design phase of projects in collaboration with the bid manager and sales team.

  • Maintain project KPIs established by key clients and internal stakeholders during the quotation (tender) phase.

  • Support and maintain the integrity of conceptual designs throughout detailed engineering, system implementation, and system operation in collaboration with colleagues located in Veghel, Mönchengladbach, Seattle, and Marietta.

  • Contribute to the accurate development and validation of sales pricing for projects of varying size and complexity in collaboration with the project team.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline.

  • 5–10 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Strong systems design knowledge; experience designing material handling systems for warehousing or parcel operations is preferred.

  • Analytical ability to structure and solve logistics problems and interpret relevant information from multiple sources.

  • Strong sales acumen and the ability to incorporate pricing considerations into design strategies.

  • Excellent influencing skills both internally and when working with customers at the senior management level.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional customer relationships.

  • Experience training, coaching, and leading sales engineers.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work on several projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial, international organization, often collaborating across organizational, geographic, and cultural boundaries.

  • Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 5–10% of the time).
