Together with the Sales Manager you will make an important contribution to sales success in the pre-contract phase of a project. Your tasks include identifying customer needs, developing and evaluating the right logistics solutions, leading the preparation of sales proposals and presenting these to customers. You will build and maintain together with the Sales Manager and the rest of the Sales Engineering team a constructive working relation with the customer and define the appropriate sales tactics.
- Identify the customer’s automation needs and corresponding process requirements.
- Design conceptual solutions based on throughput data, process analysis, critical business drivers, technical requirements and the customers’ business case for medium to large sized projects.
- Convert a conceptual solution into a system design and associated high-level process design.
- Based on analytical intelligence and experience, identify the key aspects of concepts and associated impact on operations.
- Works on multiple projects, Amazon projects are typical teamwork. We typical have multiple sales roles in teams enabling a fast and complete process quote in some months.
- Lead the conceptual part of the solution during the Joint Design phase of the project with the bid manager and sales team
- Maintain the KPI’s from Amazon as Vanderlande during the Quotation (tender phase) of the project
- Support and maintain the integrity of conceptual design during detailed engineering, system implementation, and system operation with your Amazon colleagues in Veghel, Mönchengladbach, Seattle and Marietta.
- Responsible for accurate development and validation of sales price for any sized project and complexity of projects with your team.
Your qualifications and skills
- Master’s (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in relevant study (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Electro-mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or similar discipline)
- 5-10 years relevant working experience
- Systems design knowledge; experience designing material handling systems for warehousing or parcel customers preferred
- Analytical ability to structure and solve logistics problems and the ability to interpret and extrapolate relevant information from multiple sources
- Sales acumen and ability to direct pricing influences on design strategies
- Influencing skills both internally and towards customers at a senior management
- Capability to build strong professional customer relations
- Train, coach and lead sales engineers
- Ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial international organization, often working across organizational, geographic, and cultural boundaries
- Willing to travel internationally (up to 5-10% of your time)
Salary rate: $147,000-$162,750
